If I do ever try it out, it'll be after I finish my mono-red deck. But I threw together a mardu midrange thing for standard, that plays somewhat similar to this in terms of stalling them through early game removal and hand disruption and not letting them stablize, then take over by flooding the board with tokens or a couple big creatures. So comparatively speaking, the decks have similar functionality, though the modern one obviously being far more efficient in what it does.

Brilliant, it's hard finding serious BWR Modern decks in my opinion. Have you constructed this deck and brought it to a tournament?
I also used to run Slaughter Games in my deck. Problem was my opponents would usually have a Shadow of Doubt to counter it. I'm not too sure how much this is a problem to you, but I myself run Extirpate to fix this problem.

I normally only board that in VS Scapeshift and Titanbloom and so far none of them have run either of those. I need to pick up about 12 more cards for this and i'll be all set to take it in to an FNM. see how that fares

Some of the cheap SB stuff too I'll probs order soon

I'd recommend Rakdos Charm over Relic of Progenitus. Perfect for graveyard removal and you get two other handy options, especially being that the last one kills Splinter Twin decks.

I agree to an extent but most of the time you board it in Game 2, maybe kill them if they aren't expecting it. Any game they do see it coming, they simply spawn enough guys to kill you, but not enough for charm to kill them. It becomes semi useless at that point

It destroys artifacts too you know. And if you win game one it wins you the game game 2. Sometimes that damage is enough to kill them as you've most likely already done a fair bit of damage to them.

Talk to anyone who plays twin. They will tell you the first thing they incapacitate out of anyone running RB is that card.
February 27, 2015 1:08 a.m.
Mmm... I hope I'm not sounding like a nuisance.
If you have the greater life total, then with Twin, any amount of copies that could be produced to be lethal will risk them the game. Even if they're a tiny bit ahead of you, you have both a full set of Lightning Bolt and Lightning Helix, which could end them or stall you a turn after playing the charm. You're likely to even hold potential blockers and removal in your hand, so an exact number may have to be increased further.
Even if you're still not convinced. It works as your graveyard removal at instant speed, and the artifact removal can serve a Cranial Plating removal against affinity.

In my twin matchup I've been boarding out all my Lightning Bolts! actually. they can't kill exarch and burning tbem out is very hard to do. I'll give charm a shout to kill the opposing Batterskull they board in though.
My normal plan goes like -
-4 Bolt
-1 Brimaz
+2 Slaughter Games
+1 Hide/Seek
+2 Combust
It's very hard to react to the combo, trust me. They always wait until they can counter anything you do anyways. Sometimes they just go for it though. More ways of winning is good I guess.

Unless you advocate going full aggro and trying to burn them out before they can combo?

Ah.. I knew it would be Alesana-related before I even clicked on it. +1 just for that :)

I tried looking through the mythic and rare 2 drops in mardu colors and couldnt find anything that has greater power level than Young Pyromancer. :(
Kederekt Parasite would be underwhelming...
Soltari Priest dont do much without pumps..
...I see you just made a change while I was looking for suggestions... 4 Bob seems kinda suicidal dont it? :P

4 Bob? I'm surprised by that move. Really I'm shocked that Young Pyromancer has done so little for you in the deck. Unfortunately I have no glorious feedback for the deck, but I will see what I can drum up. Maybe it'll help to mainboard the Kor Firewalkers?

If Kederekt Parasite got some sort of stat boost with that I'd def run it.
Soltari Priest would just be Auriok Champion or Kor Firewalker
Bob is highly suicidal but WOTC is hellbent on making these colors not work together so it's the best I got. Other than that I "could" run Grim Lavamancer but...meh

Yup, Thats why I didnt suggest them Varm. :P
If I had something that was obviously better and didnt put yeh back to the token build, Id suggest it. (though the token build doesnt have better stuff either..)
March 4, 2015 7:58 p.m.
Too bad Kederekt Parasite doesnt have some sort of Bloodhall Ooze abilities on it..
March 4, 2015 7:59 p.m.
Have you gotten some play testing in with 'Value Dragon'?
Also, whats your life total often like around turn 4/5? :P

Internet has been bullshit today so I got 1 game in Vs some kind of poxloam deck. Even game one I wrecked him so I count that more of him being teribad at mtg than me actually making good plays. He ragequit before I could cast it. I kinda like this set up but I feel like having both hero and thunderbreak is asking for trouble on the mana :P
March 6, 2015 2:07 a.m.
Def like the deck in the few playtests I gave it.. Just needs that something more to get up the hill. : /

Lol, to be honest, anything much over 5 dollars is hard for me to get. Most of the people I play with do standard, so getting high value modern cards requires buying them, or trading with my store. And they're a store, they want profit :P so half the deck would be hard, but I'll try and make a budget deck, just cause it looks fun :)
