Sideboard

As the Angels of Thune begin to make their re-appearance, so do the undead... and they bring a swift vengeance with them.

This B/G Aggro deck utilizes small creatures to bring down your opponents life total down in the early game and buff your creatures up or throw down bigger ones to end the game. All criticism is welcome and any suggestions are much appreciated!

Early Aggro creatures, such as Gravecrawler, Scavenging Ooze, and Lotleth Troll allow you to deal damage very early in the game to get that extra advantage. Additionally, both Scavenging Ooze and Lotleth Troll can grow throughout the game to become even bigger threats.

Not only do the Aggro creatures get in for early damage, but the bigger creatures such as Desecration Demon and Vorapede allow you to swing in for large amounts of damage that either can't be blocked or goes right through the blockers.

Even these creatures need help in defeating the opponent and that's when Vraska the Unseen and Garruk, Primal Hunter come in to lead them to victory. Garruk, Primal Hunter allows for more creatures to be created and swarm the enemy, while Vraska the Unseen deals with any of your opponents creatures, and provides a win condition at the same time.

The big creatures in this deck have not one, but two uses! Not only can they deal tons of damage to your opponent, but they can also serve as fodder for your Disciple of Bolas, allowing you to gain a huge card advantage and a lot of life. Using him specifically on Vorapede and Geralf's Messenger to trigger its undying effect kills two birds with one stone.

When your enemy seems to have the board advantage, there's no need to worry! Cards such as Mutilate and Tragic Slip will deal with any creatures your opponent controls, and just in case you need more removal, the sideboard provides you with a large arsenal of removal cards.

Speaking of the sideboard, if your opponent seems to be one of those righteous white mages or tree hugging green mages, make sure to stomp them out with Lifebane Zombie. Along with him, your sideboard can stomp out any board wipe cards by using Golgari Charm in response. Additionally, if you're ever in need of the best black card in standard, Vampire Nighthawk is here to help.

Updates Add

Removed some of the cards such as Dreg Mangler to make room for different cards that I found better like Geralf's Messenger. This decks focus isn't on complete Aggro anymore, but rather being able to get early creatures out to get the advantage and being able to make them bigger later. Additionally, this deck has a lot of mid-range cards to help in the later stages of the game.
