...also I forgot Bioshift for very nasty combat tricks!

I've found Ooze Flux to be particularly helpful even with a faster list like this simply because Master Biomancer is still in the mix, and the undying creatures can come back into play with an absurd amount of counters on them for me to remove, though I agree, it can be a bit of a weak spot in the regard because at that point one could simply be more careful with the creature and use it as a larger beater (Strangleroot Geist coming back in as a 5/4 at the weakest? Can't complain too much about that.)
I've been pretty comfortable with the idea of Glaring Spotlight and Ulvenwald Tracker in sideboard, but I've been thrown some suggestions lately to try mainboarding them and after I get a chance to playtest with it I'll get back to you...though you're quite likely correct.
As for Experiment One , my playtime with him has been mixed at best. I find myself rarely using regenerate simply due to how regenerate and combat damage resolve.

It depends on what you want, I tried to play with Ooze Flux but most of the time I hated it :D
Presonally I never use Experiment One regeneration but for me is an awesome drop at first turn because it start to evolve soon, imagine: T1: forest + Experiment One T2: forest + Strangleroot Geist
I think that's pretty sweet!

He can be pretty good in the right situation, but here I feel more comfortable dropping a Young Wolf or better yet a Cloudfin Raptor T1 which, with the right draw, can lead to a 3/4 flier, 2/2, and 3/3 on T2 (With aforementioned Rapid Hybridization combo)

I gotta say, this is a very sexy deck and reading your description of how it's played gives me all sorts of eye boners. +1 from me. Hell, I'd +2 it if I could. Good job.

No Vorapede? 1 of the best undying creatures created, vigilance, trample and undying. This can easily end games by himself!

Believe me, I have a playset of Vorapedes and I love the card but here I want to try something a little faster and pulling one on my opening hand slowed the game down, and even when he was in the deck there were many games where he wasn't necessary to win at all. With all that can be dropped on the field with this deck in such short time, he feels a bit excess.

After a lot of playtesting with this deck, I find that Ooze Flux is rarely used... ever. Any suggestions on what I should replace it with?

good call on Vorapede as this deck doesn't curve out into it very well mana wise. it ends up needing a much larger green mana base to be a consistent t5 like my Simic deck :P AEtherize is great but I've always felt it would do better in a dmir deck as people are most likely going to rush in and attack them due to weaker creatures, If you want a 4 mana blue card that will flat out win you the game I suggest you try out Sleep because it's literally two free swings = a dead opponent given you have big creatures.
If you are interested in sleep I also recommend Experiment One over cloudfin, Cloudfin raptor was really pushed by wizards for his evasion but Experiment one amounts into t2 swing for 4 with Strangleroot or it can net you 2 3/3s and a 3/2 if you rapid hybridize your Strangleroot (swinging for 6 t2). Wild Nacatl being a huge tournament card is a good frame of reference as to why Experiment One is awesome, and sleep makes the lack of evasion irrelevant as it amounts to you ending the game as soon as you are comfortable.

Holy multi post, I'm just making this worse, sorry :P
February 26, 2013 3:47 p.m.
@infinitemana I already have four strangelroots in the deck
@Osprey_93 lol no worries about the multipost. Anyway, I definitely LOVE the suggestion to throw in Sleep in place of AEtherize... I hadn't even considered the card and thinking about it almost makes me want to try and find a place mainboard for it. My experience with Experiment One has been rather underwhelming, but I'd be willing to playtest him and give him another chance with a few deck changes. Let me get back to you on that one.

I like [Experiment One] ability to remove two +1/+1 counters to regenerate.

+1. Cyclonic Rift, Vorapede, Gyre Sage, and Experiment One are a few of my suggestions. Have you tried working these into the board?

I'm testing right now my own Simic Deck (http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/wet-woods-simic-gu/) and I think that I can give you some advices:
Glaring Spotlight and Ulvenwald Tracker are side cards in my opinion
Ooze Flux is very good if you're going to produce tons of +1/+1 counters with Primordial Hydra only with these creatures you will barely use it...
I will get out Stormbound Geist for 4 Experiment One MUCH better! and also +1 Zameck Guildmage
This is my opinion, nice deck! ;D
