so i've really enjoyed play testing this deck. it feels different than a lot of decks i have come across and it's a lot of fun to play. i do have a suggestion, if you swap Stormbound Geist for Drakewing Krasis it helps make the deck feel more aggressive. it's easier to cast, it gets bigger, has a built in rancor, and can block ground creatures in a pinch.

wiizaaard I'm not sure how I feel about Drakewing Krasis due to his lack of Evolve... But I'll throw him into the mix for a bit and see how he feels.

I'd love to play my newly made Can't Wait For The Sun To Dry Up All This Rain. against this one. I think it would be a fun match up.

Isn't Master Biomancer a bit of an anti-synergy with undying? Young Wolf enters as a 3/3, but when it dies it stays dead.

On the other hand Zameck Guildmage is obviously good. Effectively it's a two mana regenerate and draw a card for any undying creature.

It depends on what you consider "anti-synergy". Yes, the synergy between Zameck Guildmage and undying becomes a bit compromised, but that Young Wolf actually enters the field as a 4/4 (+1/1 from Undying and +2/2 from the Biomancer). But I like the other possibilities that Master Biomancer opens up; He pushes Evolve a little further than the deck is otherwise capable of and can potentially drop huge creatures out of nowhere (With Rancor, Simic Charm, or both) resulting in situations where opponents will let creatures who would otherwise be blocked through just so they don't turn around and become a 4/4, 6/6, 7/7, or even a 10/10 (A 10/10 Young Wolf is easier than it sounds, though the game usually finds its way to completion before anyone lets that happen)

one thing you might want to consider is Bioshift, you could use it to move undying +1/+1 counters onto biomancer so that they can both come back again and come back even bigger

This is a great deck, love it. I've given you credit for inspiring a slightly different version that I'm trying to create for an upcoming pauper tournament. Check it out and let me know if you have an ideas. A Theory of Evolution

I've made a deck slightly similar, but with a big splash of black, with access to Blood Artist , Abrupt Decay and Altar's Reap you can really push your undying cycling to the max, and hurt your opponent in the process.

Check it out:

If you use Simic charm to give a creature +3 +3 most of the time why dont you try the cheaper mana version, giant growth which is just 1 green for +3 +3. I would cut 2 simic charms for 2 giant growths

It's worth a shot but I like the insurance of being able to give my creatures hexproof; it's proven an incredibly useful tool.

This is one of my favorite decks! I will never get over the perfect manipulation of the new mechanic! If you could check out my take on the American way, Don't F*** With America, it would be greatly appreciated.

how has this deck done in FNM?

Unfortunately real life has inhibited me from attending FNM for the past month... The deck performs well on Cockatrice but I'm still eager to enter into a local standard tornament but until a few things resolve that wont happen... As soon as I get to an event ill post the performance, gladly

Ever think of trashing Rancor for Hunger of the Howlpack ?

I've only recently started playing magic and I liked this deck so much that I decided that it would be the first deck that I make. I do have an Increasing Savagery and Hunger of the Howlpack instead of two Rancor s. And I also have Wolfir Silverheart , Primordial Hydra , and Predator Ooze ,but other than that it's exactly the same! And I went 4-0 at this past FNM!! I love this deck so much! It's so fun to play!

I would like to know about you guys if you all ever tot that Bioshift could be much more than a +1/+1 counter removal from undying creatures... Think of bioshift more than a counter remove/burn spell than anything else in this kind of deck coz we need to protect our counters producing;

Lemme give the case: (happens to me a lot in my meta)

Turn1: Forest, Experiment One Turn2: Island, Young Wolf , flipped Island: Rapid Hybridization experiment turns to 3/3, wolf 2/2, frog lizard 3/3

Turn3: Rancor at experiment one 5/3, all attack, opponent respond with Searing Spear , i respond with Bioshift moving 2 counters for the frog lizard. And plus Experiment havent not even died coz now he regenerated...

If was a Cloudfin Raptor we will be able to save like 3 counters. Thats the truly way ppl have to use bioshift here and not thinking just in to move one counter from undying creats.

One problem with your idea there, Bioshift Wouldn't trigger Experiment One 's regenerate as you're moving the counters for a different ability and not the regenerate ability therefore experiment one would still die but you have a 5/5 frog lizard.

i like. How bad are boardwipes?

April 8, 2013 10:06 p.m.

soulshadow says... #21

assuming you have enough mana to pull any counters off your undying guys before the boardwipe all of your undying creatures will come right back.

April 8, 2013 10:45 p.m.

Saber993 says... #22

The problem I have with bioshift is that it doesn't do enough. It doesn't matter to me that it's only one mana; even in its best case scenario you aren't using it to save a creature, you're just saving the counters that were on it. While that's a novel concept, the card slots that would be dedicated to bioshift are, in my opinion, used on cards that would save a creature or provide actual utility. In your instance vs searing spear for example, I would prefer to have a Simic charm in hand over bioshift every time.

I like the card, I just can't justify it.

Board wipes are typically just a minor setback. The mana curve on the deck is easy enough to allow a quick rebound, especially with the undying creatures on the board or rancors to work with.

My current deck is U/G Cheap Creature Power (Need Suggestions) I've actually come to like a few of the changes in your build.. However... Instead of those Elusive Krasis , how about Invisible Stalker ? I find the hexproof to be invaluable because you can just toss Rancor and Simic Charm on them and they can't do a damn thing about it. I like the idea of splashing in some black for maybe Corpsejack Menace but I don't have the lands to do it.

I really freaking love this deck, I can't offer any good tips or feedback considering this isn't my play style, but with a deck like this i could see it happening. I love everything about the undying/Rapid Hybridization combo. +1
