The main characteristic of any hive is its multitude. With this deck, Slivers start out fast and keep coming out. It was largely inspired by the flavor texts of the various slivers and thus feels true to the nature of the hive:
("Fascinating... These creatures display the paradox of tenacity and purposed self-destruction I have sought to breed into my thrulls." Endrek Sahr, master breeder)
-The inclusion of Acidic, Clot, Crystalline, and Necrotic embodies this paradox perfectly. Clot and Crystalline keep your slivers alive until the moment comes when their death (through Acidic or Necrotic) serves the hive more than their survival.
(Within weeks, more slivers nested in Otaria than ever existed on Rath.)
-Because all but 4 slivers are 3 mana or less, they come out fast and when Brood comes out, they multiply exponentially. Horned helps get damage through to ensure the hive's steady growth.
("They are here, and they are hungry. And what they do not eat, they burn. Yavimaya is lost. We must leave now for Skyshroud." Edahlis, greenseeker)
-Your slivers should always be attacking. If they are not attacking they should be burning (Acidic or Necrotic). Your only defenders will be the ones with summoning sickness. This may seem a poor defense, but with their low cost you should be summoning several each turn and they should have regenerate.
("Slivers are guided only by simple instinct. Advance the hive, and you will be welcomed. Impede the hive, and you will face unrelenting opposition." Freyalise)
-Where the deck gets its name. 'Nuff said.
