~Sorry for my bad gramer~

Who doesn't know that moment?

"Oh my god, modern is so awsome, let's play it!".

and than... you find yourself sell your Kidney to buy "just one more goyf..." to the deck.

And than you think: "I'll play under budget".Lets admit it, most of the times it doesn't work.

So I hope this budget deck will work, because she is extremly similiar to her original.

A U\R agro deck that costs a few dozen dollars.

The value this deck has (because my friend borrowed me) and how to build the deck without them:

  • 1x Serum Visions

  • 4x Vexing Devil

  • 3x Grim Lavamancer

  • 1x Spell Snare

  • 4x Steam Vents

  • 2x Polluted Delta

  • 3x Bloodstained Mire

Let's look at each card separately:

  • Serum Visions can easly be replaced by "Sleight of Hand" or "Faithless Looting".

  • "Vexing Devil' and "Grim Lavamancer" can be replaced by "Slumbering Dragons", "", or "".

  • "Spell Snare" can be replaced by another copy of "Spell Pierce", "Mana leak", "Vapor Snag" or even "Dissmember".

  • The mana base isn't realy necessary, because this deck is a two-colored deck.

About SIdeboard:

The meta right now in modern contains large ammount of decks, from abzan midrange to amulet bloom and tron. Those are the main archtypes and what you need to handle them:

  • Splinter Twin : The combo of Splinter Twin containes two pieces: "Splinter Twin" and "Pestermite" \ "Deceiver Exarch". (As all cards, you can find what they do in TCGplayer.com) You need to: Destroy Splinter Twin \ Destroy the creature (in response to the abillity or casting Splinter Twin, and try the enemy won't counter it) \ Counter Splinter Twin \ Avoide the triger of "untapping" to happend. In our sideboard: Tropor Orb, Spell Pierce, Rending Volley and Cryptic Command.

  • Tron : The tron decks want to have: "Uzar's mine", "Uzar's Power Plant" and "Uzar's Tower" on the battelfield. If they have those, you will hanle with "Karn liberated" or "Wurmcoil Engine" in turn 3. Not fun. So it is best yo just not letting them get the mana. I can't see another way to stop them. This can be done cy two main ways: avoiding the lands (destroy\change) and destroying the artifacts they are using to get the lands. In our sideboard: Blood moon.

  • Afinity : This deck has some connectio to tron, they are both colorless and heartless. The afinity decks run many little creauters. So little that some of them cost 0, for example: Ornithopter. In turns 2 and 3 they make those craeture stronger, and sometimes cast for low CMC creatures with "Afinity to artifact" as " Myr Enforcer". So here we need to destroy artifats, and to deal camage to large amount of creatures. The problem is that we might hurt our creatures to. In our sideboard: Cryptic Command, Electrolyze, Spell Snare.

  • Burn : This deck is the embodiment of agression. It plays a playset of "Monastery Swiftspear" and "Goblin Guide" + Burn spells as "Lightning Bolt" and "Rift Bolt". We need to minimize the damage by killing the few creature\s, and counter their spells as much as possible. The key is to remember they never have open mana, so a great card against them is "Spell Pierce" which we run one copy of in the mainboard and sideboard.

  • Amulet Bloom : This is one of the most awsome decks in modern and in general. I don't want to write the hall idea, but you can read about it here: http://magic.wizards.com/en/events/coverage/ptfrf/round-12-feature-match-12-samuel-black-amulet-bloom-vs-robin-dolar-abzan-2015-02-07.We need to avoide them playing the first and second turns, by countering\destroying in a cheap way "Amulet of Vigor" + "Summer Bloom", and if needed also the "Primial Titan" and "Hive Mind". In our sideboard: Spell Snare, Spell Pierce

  • Infect : This is an intrensting deck. The target here is killing the creature with the infect, but there are two problems:

  • 1) In response to everything targets the creature with infect, "Vines of vestwood" will come down and will "counter" everything you will try to do won't work. you may try to counter Vines with "Mana Leak" and "Spell Pierce" or evem "Izzet Charm". or You may try to try another removel in response to VInes.
  • 2) If you will try to kill the creature with damage, it is most likely that your enemy will play "pamp" (as "Giant Growth") in instant speed. In our sideboard: Burst Lightning, (maybe) Spell Pierce and Relice of Progenitus (against Become Immense).

  • Abzan Midrange : This deck doesn't have any combo or suprising cards, it is pure value deck. Our deck is faster than this deck, remember this, you won't lose the game in turn 1-4. So use it - play "Cryptic Command" and "Blood Moon". In addition, we play "Spell Snare" to stop the goyf and his friends. In addition, "Relic of Progenitus" also comes in, also agains goyf.

  • Delver decks - This deck is prity much the mirror match, although most of those decks are more "controlish" most of the time. This time you also need "Spell Snare" and "Spell pierce" against "Remand" + "Mana Leak". If the oponent is much more controlish, play also "Electrolyze".
