Back in the day, you could throw 3 Steel Golems into a pile of permission and win big. I'm taking that fact to light, and and doing the same thing... except today's golem has Flying, while still costing 3.

GhostFire is a control deck, using a full suite of countermagic and multitarget burn to control the board. GhostFire's only creature, the eponymous 'ghost', is Fettergeist, a part of the Avacyn Restored "solo" cycle. The idea of the deck is to get a (exactly one) Fettergeist, slap a ring on it (Ring of Evos Isle), then proceed to smash your opponent's face until you win, while using the aformentioned 'Fire' to keep the rest of the board in flames.

However, there's more to this deck than just blasting and smashing. Similar to my monored Wild-Gargadon deck, GhostFire uses the Wellspring cards of New Phyrexia alongside the underused and undercosted Perilous Research and Crack the Earth to ooze card advantage. With Pyroclasm and Lightning Blast keeping the board free of dorks, your opponents will be reduced to sacrificing their own lands, artifacts, and wits to Crack the Earth. A full set of Rune Snag and trio of Mana Leak keep the big threats off the board while Ring of Evos Isle's activation keeps your Fettergeist removal-proof.

The deck rounds itself out with the fabulous Electrolyze, flexible Sulfurous Blast, and Trade Routes to keep the party going until your opponents ragequit. On top of that, the only expensive cards are the lands - and thanks to those Mycosynth Wellsprings, you very seldom have mana problems.

And yes, there are Ghostfires in the sideboard for good measure.
