Against decks that dont play a lot of burn or removal...sure go ahead, but trust me, satyr firedancer is not reliable. There is to much time in which they can remove it, before it does damage. On entreewhenever you cast a spell on their life....they can respond to it killing the dancer...and his effect wont be on the stack yet

I like how your deck gets value out of every damage. Might give you some ideas but I'm running a r/w based on pumping prowess and gaining value that way! This Soul Is On Fire (Dragons Update!)

Also it would help your mana curve to play Arc Lightning over Searing Blood when you consider there are lots of bigger guys out there at the moment!

Myth Realized? You know, you can really charge that thing up for later on. And it's always a good body.

I just finished putting together a variation of this with stormchasers and thermo alchemists but no blue with the exception of fevered visions and stormchaser with a couple blue cards in the s/b, how does homunculus perform for you?

August 19, 2016 1:36 p.m.

Kameronmcl says... #15

reyv6925 to be honest Curious Homunculus  Flip I mean it is nice but I rarely see it and when I do...Thermo-Alchemist and Thing in the Ice  Flip is just the better play so when Kaladesh (New Standard) comes out that'll be one of the first things I replace...if it fits lol

reyv6925 I will say however, I used to run Stormchaser Mages but I found that Curious Homunculus  Flip is better overall and helps better so I replaced them.

Anticipate and Displacement Wave are both great cards in this type of deck. I have a deck somewhat similar that uses Anticipate in the main and Displacement Wave in the sideboard. The wave is particularly good against decks running token creatures.

Talent of the Telepath is also a great sideboard. If your opponent is running a lot of instant/sorcery spells, you can end up with 3 cast triggers off of one card! That's amazing for your Thing in the Ice.

I also think you should think about Stormchaser Mage. He's just such an amazing creature in Izzet! I've also had REALLY good luck with Elusive Spellfist. All in all, this is a pretty solid deck, +1 from me!

If you're interested, this is the deck I'm currently using:

@Harbynger Thanks for your feedback and suggestions! As for Elusive Spellfist Displacement Wave and Talent of the Telepath, I'm playing post rotation so I don't have to worry about changing the deck up. However when Kaladesh comes out I will most likely switch things around. As for Stormchaser Mage, I used to use him but I found that Curious Homunculus  Flip is better overall than Stormchaser Mage is.

expedite is a cheap and efficient card (r)gives your thermo haste and you get to draw a card

September 3, 2016 9:12 p.m.

Kameronmcl says... #22

@PerishXDimir Although Expedite IS a cheap card...it reads "Target creature gains haste until end of turn.

Draw a card" and seeing as my deck only runs 10 creatures I can't help but feel like it will be a dead draw more than not. Thanks for your suggestion though!

Kameronmcl,
Have you had a chance to use Crush of Tentacles and Rise from the Tides? If so what were the match-ups, and how did they work for you? Appreciate any insights you may have!

Great deck +1! Have you tried Sin Prodder in your deck yet?

September 6, 2016 5:37 a.m.

Kameronmcl says... #25

@clayperce I've used Crush of Tentacles before and it was against a few different midrange decks and a Bant Company deck, and when I did use them, it really saved me. as for Rise from the Tides I actually haven't even used it yet. But yeah, I think Crush works really great in my deck.

@Homura_Akemi I have before and sure Sin Prodder generates card draw and/or burning your opponents, it also gives them the chance to allow what you play against them essentially. I mean, it's great and all but he just doesn't fit in with my deck. I feel like Sin Prodder needs to have a build around it to be most efficient.

Anyway, thank you both for leaving feedback on my deck!
