Saw a few lists trying to push Melek, Reforged Researcher. Don't have much confidence in it but maybe some sort of spell trickery shell has something to offer.

I have to believe Ill-Timed Explosion is a must. Since the early cards probably have to be heavy on dig spells like Otherworldly Gaze just to keep the Melek relevant at all.

Maybe the best angle for finishing has to go through Invasion of Arcavios   to pull a finisher out of the sideboard, freeing up deck slots for maximum digging and defense. If you have a Melek on board and a full grave, you can pull Pyrrhic Blast to fling the Melek. Or maybe you'll need an emergency card like Burn Down the House just to stay alive. Or if you're in a standoff either way, getting a Doppelgang to multiply the battle and land can help turn the corner.

Lier, Disciple of the Drowned and Kylox's Voltstrider are to help recycle the spells. Vadrik, Astral Archmage and Case of the Ransacked Lab and Grabby Giant are for reducing casting costs. An Offer You Can't Refuse looks pretty cringe but maybe it's a sneaky ramp spell if I counter like a useless Syncopate and can be an emergency counter for some big threat otherwise.
