I brought this deck to a local FNM and ended in 1st going 4-0.
Round 1: 4C RitesThis match almost went to time. Game 1 I got a talrand to start pumping out drake tokens and it eventually took over the game. Game 2 my opponent quickly resolved an angel of serenity with a cavern of souls naming angel. I was able to keep bounding it back to his hand, but i just couldn't deal with it permanently. Game 3 was looking grim and was taking a long time. Fortunately for me, he had a hallowed fountain out and a Master of the Pearl Trident gave my Augur of Bolas islandwalk. That paired with a runechanter's pike ended up being too much for him to handle.
Round 2: RDWI was very scared of this match-up, but it ended up being alright for me. Game 1, I resolved pillar of flame multiple times while using snapcaster mage to get in there for the beats. Game 2 was very similar, but with dungeon geists being able to keep a hellrider pinned down.
Round 3: American MidrangeVery easy match up for me. Game 1 was double Master of the Pearl Trident keeping steady beats while unsummon, izzet charm, and dissipate kept his threats in check. Game 2 was a all Talrand+Pike and counter magic to keep him alive and well.
Round 4: 4C TokensThis deck was hellriders, tokens and burn at the stake. Very different deck than what I've been playing against. Game 1 was very easy. I just countered every spell he played and Augur+Pike got too much for him. Game 2, counter spells got sided in and it was a very similar match to game 1. Countered everything and Augur+Pike and island walk put me right past his tokens.
Very fun deck to play. Would recommend it to people wanting to play a tempo deck for FNM. Any thoughts or advice would be appreciated!
