Just a suggestion. Niv Magus Elaments is a foil against Spellskite MB. I say this because if they Spellskite MB you can exile the spell in response to the Skite activation get the boost for prowess and grow the Niv Magus. Great deck ove it!!!

Sergal ~ We'll make the swap once i get home (for some reason editing on the phone tends to end badly for me). I found your deck, that's really cool how consistent you've gotten it. I playtested 6 or 7 hands and killed turn 4 on every single one (even the ones where i didnt have a turn 1 play). every time i had a Kiln Fiend it was overkill, so i guess i cant argue with you XD
clayperce, Atony1400, ChiefBell ~ Thank you so much for pointing me to those threads! I followed all your links, and read up on everything. I've started Brainstorming (couldnt resist XD) and drafting up the beginnings of an article. should have something to show Chief by Thursday.
nubbins520 ~ I hadn't considered it. Thank you! I really like the interaction you get from it: two good targets for my own creatures as acceleration, plus it kills two cards that are both being heavily played in modern AND could slow/shut us down. Wall of Omens, and the oforementioned Spellskite. i'll test it out, but if nothing else, it will find its way into recommendations in the description.
TheInsanelyMadWizard ~ Thanks! I'd love to bounce ideas with you! =D

Zombot ~ Nivmagus Elemental is a pretty clunky way to deal with a Spellskite.
In theory it's nice, but i think putting in Twisted Image or even Roast would be much more effective, and would be functional in most matchups. Thank you for the suggestion, though! =D

I'll definantly help! I'll even link it to The Cheap Deck Club. once it's published!
March 22, 2016 11:06 a.m.
The suggestion was also a way to keep the power level up. If all you have is a blister coil sure you get temporary damage, NivMagus stays big from later when the hand is empty. Blitser gets relegated to chump blocker instead of a reason to keep your opponent from attacking. Sorry for the bad spellings typing on a phone.

Atony1400 ~ thanks! i'll keep you posted
Zombot ~ np, i'm on a phone right now too, so feel ya XD
You're not wrong about the role that nivmagus fills. The problem with using him for that purpose means we're expecting to go into the mid-game and if we go that late, we've likely already lost.
He would probably be extremely good value in a version of the deck running the likes of Satyr Hoplite, and a lot of pump spells. we have far more cantrips than pump, so he is much more likely to stall out our combo than anything

I was thinking that the Eldrazi decks run chalice of the void.

Cool deck! I would change Shock to Dingus Egg, as it would pretty much be another Lightning Bolt.
March 22, 2016 7:26 p.m.
I actually think that Dingus Egg might be a better choice over shock.
It's dirt cheap
This deck tries to kill the opponent as fast as possible while running very little land, so spending some of your life for an additional prowess trigger is totally worth it.
March 22, 2016 7:31 p.m.
My only suggestion is Expedite. Nice 1 drop draw a card, prowess trigger, and possible haste on a weird.
I also have a nice idea for an intro series deck for you, in my W/B lifegain enchantment deck. Still under $50 by almost $4, so you can check it out. Black White Lifegain Budget

Okay, this may have been said earlier, but here are my suggestions: Delver of Secrets Flip and/or Young Pyromancer are better than Blistercoil Weird. Also, don't play Shock. It's so terrible. Above all because there are straight upgrades to it - Wild Slash and Burst Lightning for example. You already have Gitaxian Probe, so I don't think Peek is doing much. Also, Twisted Image really doesn't do that much here. Titan's Strength is a good pump spell, especially since you have several ways of making things unblockable and is also budget.

Nivix Cyclops 3 mana, out of bolt range, plays just like Kiln Fiend
Wee Dragonauts not as explosive but has flying.
both are pretty budget

Ianator4k ~ abbot is an amazing card, but it's way too expensive, and it's one of those cards where it's not a great idea to run less than 3. with that in mind, i totally forgot to put it in the desciption, so i will fix that =D
Thedood4560 ~ dangit man, you got my hopes up! XD Fiery Impulse only hits creatures, and i absolutely need my few burn spells to have the ability to hit players. thanks for the suggestion, tho!
wolfging ~ i dont know why i avoided using Gutshot. like, didnt even test it. Thanks for spurring me to actually try it out, cuz it actually does make us a bit more consistant. =)
primtj17 ~ yea, ive seen it being played in standard, it's pretty good for what it does. I dismissed it because our deck was pretty much fleshed out with all haste in the beginning, but it might actually be worth giving it a go in place of Peek now that we dont have clout. thank you! and i will absolutely check out your deck! =D
wasianpower ~ A lot of this has been discussed and tested already, but thank you anyway for the input =) nevertheless, i'll explain things. Delver of Secrets Flip pretty much requires a control build to play reliably, and Young Pyromancer, though a strong card, makes our combo less consistent. Pyromancer is a pick that i tested over and over again, and it just doesnt fit well. The absolute best way to put him in is to swap him into Stormchaser Mage's slot. Shock and Peek are absolutely filler cards/flex slots. to explain my choice of Shock simply, Wild Slash is too expensive for it's slight advantage, and i forgot about Burst Lightning, or i probably would have done that instead. it's going to be swapped anyway, so no harm done. the slot Peek is in would normally be filled by Manamorphose, but that said, i will gladly test both Titan's Strength ad Expedite in that slot. Twisted Image helps us a lot more than you'd expect. in several games, it has been the difference of winning and losing. it is a card that makes both Monastery Swiftspear and Stormchaser Mage stronger through it's effect in addition to prowess trigger. But more importantly, it kills both Spellskite and Wall of Omens. both cards are seeing massive amounts of play at the moment, so it's necessary to be able to answer them.
Zombot ~ Apostle's Blessing is one of those "strickly better" scenarios in this deck. Mizzium Skin protects a creature, but Apostle's Blessing also can potentially make something unblockable. the higher mana cost is irrelevant since we dont give a hoot about our life total.
frogkill45 ~ Thank you for the suggestions. those aren't half bad in theory. The problem is that we should really have our creatures in play by turn 2 and just be doing damage turn 3. if either one of them was a 2 drop, it would be excellent!

Ok so I took your idea and made a non budget version. Here it is http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/izzet-blitz-it/
I've been doing some heavy testing. 11 games today online, and I'm currently 10-1. Your deck is amazing.

Zombot Nice dude! I really like the inclusion of Distortion Strike and Boros Charm, and the deck as a whole looks pretty sweet! rogue decks that are fast like that can really crack open local metas

I disagree about delver - the only think you need to build around him is a lot of instants and sorceries. You've already got a 50/50 shot of flipping it the turn after you play it, which is actually better than a lot of delver decks. As for twisted image, it does have good matchups, but there are better spells that could use that slot. I would go two in the main and one in the side. Also Wall of Omens isn't popular right now because it's really only used in decks that are terrible vs. eldrazi, it's at most 3% of the meta. Also, in the place of Manamorphose, I would recommend something that advances your gameplan better - for example, Squelch, Vapor Snag, or Electrolyze.

have you looked at the pauper version of this deck? most of that is modern legal and it gets built for around fifty dollars as well.

I just went through a playtest with this deck, didn't get a keep-able hand until I went down to five and restarted the process 4 times. Defiantly needs more lands, and something like Shivan Reef to at least make sure you aren't mono-manascrewed.

Hey, instead of running shock run lava spike. It's just lighting bolt with another name.
March 28, 2016 10:34 a.m.
o, sorry, i feel stupid now for not remembering that lava spike is sorcery. still think it would be good though

Hey there! Cool deck you have here. I also do competitive budget decks under $100. Here are some of them: Sick & Slick Simic Schtick; Best $80 You Can Spend On A Rakdos Deck and Budget Izzet Tempo Ft. Taylor Swiftspear. Maybe we can exchange ideas for budget decks in the future. :D
