U/R Storm Combination

Modern RUW (Jeskai, America) Storm

z0180

Sideboard

Enchantment (3)

Sorcery (3)

This is my version of the UR Storm Combination deck for Modern competitive formats. We play some land, cantrip, make mana and grapeshot the socks off of our opponents. If we're disrupted, we must always remember our line and then we think of the likelihood with which we can execute our line towards a really big grapeshot.

The newest piece of technology came to me when I no longer wanted to play Breeding Pool and Ancient Grudge in the 75, and instead chose Hallowed Fountain and Wear/Tear. Comb-ing off with Wear/Tear is a nice thing to do. Typical sideboard cards here. It is important not to take out too much from the main, as it's important not to change the dynamic of the deck too much. I will often board out Ascensions first, then Thougscour, and then Desperate Ritual and then 1 Past in Flames and then 1 Grapeshot. I cannot really see too many situations where I would want more than 6 new cards in the deck from the sideboard. I will say that boarding in 3 Empty the Warrens against Thoughtsieze is correct, and always board in an Echoing Truth if there is a slight chance that a permanent will come between us and victory.
