Agreed, although ironic that you'd make your Mind-Controlled creatures weaker as you take them.

-1 Urabrask the Hidden (legendary) and +1 Myr Superion (excellent combo with Heartless Summoning !
Very nice deck.
+1 from me.

I also love Urabrask the Hidden with Grave Titan , though admittedly with heartless summoning out the 1/1 zombies he makes aren't nearly as nice as the usual 2/2's

I feel like you could run less lands and add in more burn spells or creatures since you're using Heartless Summoning .

I agree with maybe pulling 1 or even 2 Urabrask the Hidden because they are legendary, maybe pull 1 or 2 Inferno Titan as well but not for more Myr Superion . I would go with Rune-Scarred Demon . Nice cheap drop from the Heartless Summoning with a built in Diabolic Tutor so you can dig that Urabrask the Hidden or Inferno Titan when you need to rather than wait and hope you get one and you get a decent flying attacker as well.

How about Royal Assassin ? It is a nice combo when you have Urabrask in play.

Royal Assassin would die with the Heartless Summoning in play.

then what you Rune-Scarred Demon for another one that ends up being the most expensive card in the deck what else are you gonna want to fetch at that pont
November 4, 2011 5:43 p.m.
Anything he would need at the time.
A 5/5 flyer for 5 mana with a built in Demonic Tutor is rarely a bad thing.

Heartless Summoning requires balance you can't put in super exspensive cards just because they might become cheaper.
The way i look at it is like this, although this card makes every other creature better it can also make you hold a buntch of dead cards if you put in creatures that are 2 big then your deck sits there and does nothing if you don't draw one. You put in creatures that are 2 small that they become ineffective with the negatives. and what if you draw 2 or don't even say it 3 Heartless Summoning what do u do then! i gave this idea a try with this deck of mine Heartless Curse i did my best to solve some of the problems but i was never satisfied with it.

Its not a competitive deck idea. Its supposed to be fun.

i didn't think i took any fun away with that comment it was meant to be constructive i made a deck with this card as well just sharing what i found

Hey man, always sick to see these ideas. I love the turn 3 Urabrask the Hidden , its a lot of fun.
I agree with the Rune-Scarred Demon idea because I just put him in my deck and been playtesting (Urabrask The Heartless Infernal vs GGHF (BG Glissa Infect)) and it makes a huge difference.
I think with Priest of Urabrask working like a Dark Ritual , and a 7 CMC card that could pop turn 3, you should include a few.
I dislike Slagstorm because it kills your Urabrask. I would (since this is a fun deck) add Balefire Dragon to replace Slagstorm , letting you cap your potential on turn 5.
OR 2xRune-Scarred Demon , which is probably the more sound choice because I think the tutor would let you grab your Inferno Titan , which you could then play the next turn. You could also clone the demon (. . . ooo, I like that idea . . .). It'd really help with draw.
OR 1xSheoldred, Whispering One to get your Perilous Myr , etc back into play.
If you need the board wipe, I'd replace Slagstorm with Rolling Temblor or Whipflare . I really think your other control spells got you covered though.
I think this is an important concept: Heartless Summoning makes your 5 drops = 3 drops, your 6 = 4, etc, so a 4 drop for the sake of the curve isn't really necessary. I think you totally get this, the cards play real well.
At least (if you want to keep it close to your original build) drop -2Slagstorm for +2Arc Trail imo.
+1, of course!

Heartless Summoning decks can be VERY competitive. However, the idea has to be to control the field. Inexpensive instants that remove, bounce, counter and discard your opponents options until you can drop the big guns are doing fantastic in standard. They can be applied here as well. Check my Heartless Massacre or my friend djgunn's The Heartless Beatstick for some examples of competitive standard Heartless Summoning decks.
This deck has some very cool ideas on how to be effective. I like it, it is more for fun and the last time I talked to Richard Garfield he assured me that having fun was the intent of playing any game, especially magic. Just sayin.

Have you considered the use of Bloodgift Demon ? Seems like the draw could be useful.

Nice use of the Priest of Urabrask can trigger morbid on Brimstone Volley with Heartless Summoning out and cast Myr Superion when it isn't. +1
