Disclaimer I built this deck while also considering my pod. I love the game, but find the most enjoyment in letting everyone (rather than limiting) play the way their deck was designed! In this deck I have included the minimum number of hindrances for my opponents, without losing the effect/ability of mine! That being said, your suggestions for more removal etc, are heard loud and clear, but I try to let everyone play out how they intended! :)

Plan

Uril, the Miststalker is a great card on its own. A 5/5 Hexproof that just begs to be enchanted. with plenty of Ramp cards to make sure he can enter the battlefield quickly, and plenty of Auras and Enchantments to assure that he/she/it stays there, all while making its presence known very quickly! With an emphasis on low CMC and quick Auras to attach to Uril. With decent possibility to play out your hand, Card Draw and Tutors became a necessity to streamline the strategies. Building up quickly before aggressively knocking down the door of your opponents house with Double Strike which has many opportunities to also be combined with Trample!

Ramp

Auras

  • When choosing Auras, I tried to pick ones that were a healthy combination of low CMC with specific and differing abilities. Uril will already buff himself with each added Aura, so spells that only grant +X/+X to Uril is less effective or streamlined.
  • Armadillo Cloak: Because Unflinching Courage wasn't enough!
  • Bestial Fury: +2/+2, extra card draw (next turn), and a deterrent to blocking Uril. Rock and a hard place!
  • Volcanic Strength Long-term sideboard that found a home. +4/+4 and devastating to anyone with with Mountains. Did someone say Blood Moon!?
  • Ethereal Armor: Stacks nicely with the other Auras, and has increasing benefits whether cast first or last.
  • Gift of Immortality: Because someone always tries to ruin the fun!
  • Gryff's Boon: Opponent doesn't have a response to flying? Have I got a thing for you!
  • Hyena Umbra: 2 words, Totem Armor. And +3/+3 + First Strike? Coolio!
  • Instill Energy: Triggers Uril + One cost haste and vigilance. Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger!
  • Madcap Skills: Granting Menace as well as a wonderful power boost.
  • Messenger's Speed: For when you need to come out of the gate (Mist) swinging!
  • Nimbus Wings: Uril can do almost everything. Why not fly too!? +3/+4 isn't bad either!
  • Rancor: One to grant Trample while triggering Uril's ability.
  • Runes of the Deus: Granting +4/+4, Double Strike, and Trample.. Must I elaborate?
  • Scourge of the Nobilis: +4/+4, pump-and-dump unused mana, and lifegain.
  • Seize the Day: Untapping Uril, allowing a second combat.. + Double Strike = 4x base power of Uril!!
  • Shield of the Oversoul: +4/+4 + Flying + Indestructible for = OP
  • Spirit Mantle: +3/+3 with Hexproof on steroids!? Practically unblockable!
  • Unflinching Courage: Because Armadillo Cloak wasn't enough!
  • Unquestioned Authority: Card draw with the same effect as Spirit Mantle. Instill Energy:

Enchantments

  • Duelist's Heritage: Drops before Uril, allowing for immediate effect if given Haste!
  • Sigarda's Aid: Early drop for a visible ripple-effect through the game. Great for late-game Mage Slayer.
  • Sterling Grove: Gotta protect them Auras! **Limiting others... from limiting you. Makes it okay!

Double Strike!!!

Win Condition/+ Alternatives

Straight forward and unavoidable Commander damage ftw! Exploiting the many cards and abilities granting Uril Double Strike . Gryff's Boon + Runes of the Deus + Uril, the Miststalker = 12/12 Flying Trample Double Strike. Hitting for lethal Commander Damage with 3 possible damage to spare from Flying blockers, with Trample! Or Mage Slayer + Uril, the Miststalker + Xenagos, God of Revels with Seize the Day capable of replacing Xenagos, God of Revels or Mage Slayer in the combo for a similar and equally deadly affect!

Suggestions

Updates Add

Both druids do the same thing, tapping for all of the colors we need. However, for having the same exact CMC, Paradise Druid wins out no-contest for having an extra point of power, and for having Hexproof while untapped. Marginal but meaningful.
