Blade of Selves doesn't interact very well with legendary creatures: 04/11/2015 ruling - If the equipped creature is legendary, the tokens will all enter the battlefield. Then you'll choose one of them to remain on the battlefield. The others will be put into your graveyard. Any enters-the-battlefield or dies triggers of the tokens will work.

I'm looking at this deck, and i'm wondering... isn't Uril a bit slow to get out? Otherwise, this deck seems like it was build with every good enchantment.

Still, i do have suggestions!

Ghostly Prison + Sphere of Safety, both of them helps you never get attacked.

Flickering Ward for repeatable draw with the enchantresses.

Felidar Umbra for Totem Armor + Lifelink.

Sigil of the Empty Throne since you run a lot of enchantments, get awarded token for them!

Blind Obedience to slow them down. (Yes, you can play it, the W/B color symbol is reminder text, not ruling text)

City of Solitude/Dragonlord Dromoka to break down counterspell decks. Since Cavern of Souls has already been suggested...

If you want a bit more suggestions on this, i run my main deck the same way, with Sigarda at the head : Enchanted! I'm Sigarda, and here's how you die., go check and leave a +1 if you want! You got mine, though.

Hope that helps! Cheers!

Thanks for helpful suggestions Karzalar, definitely lots to consider. You're absolutely right about Uril being slow to get out - I've often thought that this deck needs more ramp (3 rocks and Oracle of Mul Daya is extremely ramp-lite). I'm going to tweak the deck a little today, see how it plays.

I'll check out your Sigarda build now, cheers!

Alright, made a few changes to spruce up my ramp game:

Out: Return to Dust, Eidolon of Countless Battles, Soul Snare & Boros Charm

In: Bloom Tender, Exploration, Fertile Ground & Trace of Abundance

You've hit pretty close to what I'm aiming for. I had just got my enchantresses in the other day and threw it together. It's not on tappedout yet though.

Big difference I noticed is I'm running more hatebears and controlly bits (though I'd love to have a Xenagod for this deck). I don't own a Kor Spiritdancer, I run Silent Arbiter or maybe Hushwing Gryff in that spot.

Anyways, have an upvote

Thanks SocialConstruct, Arbiter is a great choice. Let me know when you've got your deck up, I'd be interested in checking it out.

Mine is still currently in prototype phase. I'm debating on whether to tear apart my Aurelia deck and my Omnath deck to push Uril to full power, since Aurelia has the Boros duals at the moment

+1, I've always been looking for some good advice on an Uril deck and my search is over. Luckily, this build is very similar to mine. Super fun commander! I like Armed / Dangerous it's won me several games

Kind words, thanks SphinxOfChimes1080! I can see Armed / Dangerous being a blowout in the right situation, cool little tech card.

I think you need WAY more ramp in here. Getting out Uril quickly is super important in my games, since it gives them less time to prepare. I'm not sure how your meta functions, but I would run at LEAST 10 ramp spell/creatures. I also strongly discourage running Eldrazi Conscription. It seems good at first, but 8 mana is just too much, especially when it won't bring Uril to one-shot range. Gilded Lotus is also bad, since it takes up the 5-mana slot, which needs to be Uril 99% of the time in games. Same goes for Mirari's Wake.

You know, you're not wrong. I could/should refine the ramp suite & you raise a valid point re. the 5 drops. Eldrazi Conscription is in here to act as a nasty Academy Rector surprise, but it's definitely clunky and not needed. That's some good critical feedback nomoreeightbit, you've got me thinking about honing the deck a little.

Forkbeard I'm not trying to self-advertise too much, but you can check out my list here: http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/just-let-me-win/ It wins fairly consistently in my playgroup.

Looks like a tight, focused list. Nice one.

Hey, I came across this deck because it's so similar to my own Uril enchantress deck and I'm always looking for ideas. How well do you think Femeref Enchantress works? I've never tried her, but it seems like Hunter's Insight or Rishkar's Expertise might be more effective for drawing.

It also seems like Gilded Lotus isn't really a great fit here. Ramp into casting Uril is probably more effective instead of taking up a 5 drop slot. And with so few artifacts you could run Stony Silence, which can cause major problems for a lot of decks.

I also recommend the aura tutors Open the Armory and Heliod's Pilgrim. perhaps just replacing some of the weaker Uril auras. Maybe take out Indestructibility since you can get the cheaper and much better Shield of the Oversoul with a tutor?

You can check out my deck here http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/uril-in-control/

Femeref Enchantress isn't very good at all, she's simply in here because I originally wanted all of the old school 'official' enchantresses slotted in. I should really think about replacing her and the cards you've suggested would be excellent additions (I particularly like the 2 tutor options, Sram, Senior Edificer also seems like a decent alternative).

I'm also not married to the idea of Gilded Lotus being in here - the 5 casting cost is definitely clunky and you're right, Uril will always take precedence.

Thanks beeplus, that's some solid feedback.

August 24, 2017 12:44 a.m.

Femeref Enchantress actually doesn't seem half bad to me. I played Uril for quite a while, and I always had trouble recovering from board wipes. With Femeref out, when you get board wiped, you'll probably draw at least 2 cards, maybe even 4 or 5.

I don't really like self-advertising, but I feel like my list might be of some help to you. It's meant to be the most aggressive and fast it can possibly be.

I hear that nomoreeightbit, Femeref Enchantress can come in handy although her ability is slow and conditional. Probably not as handy as an immediate answer like a tutor, but she's a bit of a pet card and I'm a little reluctant to ditch her.

You had commented here before (in the archives) and pointed me in your decks direction previously, looks like a well oiled machine. You also previously recommended ditching Gilded Lotus and I'm starting to see the light - I think I might replace it with Farseek.

Sword of Feast and Famine works with the combo too

Yep! I've tried to remain enchantment purist for this deck but SoF&F is pretty damn awesome.

a win con i really like to run in my deck is Insult / Injury and i just added Single Combat . it gets tough taking cards out after awhile though

Forkbeard says... #22

Thanks for the ideas xxrockstarjbxx, a couple of cool cards for sure. I used to run Divine Reckoning in here which is similar to Single Combat , but I ended up cutting it at some point in favour of a focused removal option. I do like the sacrifice clause though, certainly handy for getting around indestructible. Insult / Injury seems like a potent win condition, really wish it were an instant though.

Hi, Forkbeard! Sultai_Sir here. This deck looks great I was wondering if you could help me with my take on Uril. It has a storm subtheme, and it's still in its early stages, so I hoped you could help me refine it. I can't link the decklist, but if you look at my profile, it's one of the featured decks. Sorry for the inconvenience!

One question about your decklist: why no Wild Growth! It seems better then Utopia Sprawl because of your lack of forests (I count three). I don't know what your consistency was with getting Utopia Sprawl on a land, but it seems unlikely.

Forkbeard says... #24

Thanks Sultai_Sir, you raise a valid point regarding Wild Growth vs. Utopia Sprawl - my forest count is pretty small here (4 in total; 2 basic forests + 2 forest shocks). That said, the 3 fetches add consistency and count as honorary forests as they'd allow me to snag the pertinent basics/shocks. Even still, not a high forest count. I'll wrestle with this question for a while - is colour fixing ramp more important than general green ramp consistency? Definitely something to mull over!

Gonna head on over to your page and check out your build now, cheers.

Sultai_Sir says... #25

Thanks for the response! I forgot about the fetches counting as forests if you wanted them to be. In my opinion, you already have a pretty solid manabase, so Wild Growth producing only green won't be as much of a problem.
