Any potential additions from M20? Seems like this set has a ton of EDH love and some good looking artifacts too.

Not long ago, I ported my old Arcum list to Teferi, and now porting it over to my man Urza. Thanks for the Primer!

I've been thinking about how fast Urza can go infinite with god hand. Turns out turn 1 win is possible lol

Hey like the deck. Upgrading from Teferi and think i'm going to use most of this list. Would you mind explaining how the winds of rebuke infinite mill works? You suggested looping doing the same loop as the infinite bird swan song thing, but casting twister to get winds of rebuke back just shuffles everyone's graveyard back into their library, so that doesn't actually win the game. What am i missing?

DemianDMax: I just started building the budget version of this deck.
How much does this banning hurt this deck?
July 8, 2019 12:12 p.m.
I imagine the Paradox Engine ban will require a big change to this deck and hurt the power a lot. Do you mind updating the other budget versions when you update this as well? Would love to still play this!

Just ignore the ban. Sheldon will be dead soon and then EDH will thrive.

Tbh, i was always iffy on the paradox engine line, you hit a lot of dead cards for that (counterspells, lands, that kinda stuff) so it was a pretty inconsistant way to go off, and in my experience it was usually just a "now i have even more mana!" card

With the banning of paradox engine, they opened up the slot for the unbanned Painters Servant. All we gotta do now id find room for Grindstone. With a unwinding clock you can mill opponents libraries in their upkeep. Meaning that all players need to have an answer in hand, and with the countermagic the deck runs its not unreasonable to protect the pieces either.

I'd say Paradox Engine -> Painter's Servant and Codex Shredder -> Grindstone .

Thank you for the update! Is there a chance to update the other budget versions as well?

I've got a few questions for you!
I've looked at your list and I struggle to figure out the actual win con. Say you've gotten infinite mana, then what? You've removed Lab Man and that Jace, you can't mill out your opponents using BSZ. You could use codex shredder, but I don't see a way to get infinite untaps.
That said, you don't have enough creatures to really make beatdown an option, is the wincon then just locking your opponent out of everything and having them rage quit? I'd appreciate some clarifications.
Also, have you thought about organizing the decklist into categories to make it easier to find certain things for those new to the deck (Like me)?

With the paradox engine ban, I was thinking about painters servant, grindstone, and Nexus of Fate in this shell. Perhaps replacing codex shredder with grindstone, which I understand has worse utility as a means to hose top of the library tutors, but can go infinite with painters servant. With the assembly of the combo, you have the option to either take out the strongest opponent, or mill yourself and win with infinite turns and Nexus of Fate. I also run Echo of eons which serves as a means to get myself out of a sticky situation if milling myself doesn't pan out.

Byuante Infinite untaps comes easy from Dramatic Reversal on Isochron Scepter .
Also it's really easy to get lots of creatures from bouncing Urza, Lord High Artificer with Capsize . The deck author actually outlines several possible combos in the "Infinite Mana and Draw" section.

I am amazed that anyone who plays Urza does not consider Vanishing as protection. For 1 blue and 2 more to activae it, you have ultimate protection - and wait- there's more- when she phases back in you get another construct token. At 25 cents, Vanishing should be in every blue deck. I also find Diplomatic Immunity to be a great protector for Urza.

Phasing doesn't work quite like that. When an object phases in, it doesn't trigger ETB effects.

Hi, nice deck!!..., i have my own version of urza:
https://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/urza-combostax-2/
I don’t have a win condition, in fact, i have a win loop when you have infinite mana and urza is in play. What do you think about drawn from dreams for recurring insight?

If you had to replace workshop, Tabernacle and twister, what would you swap them for? I refuse to think the deck is unplayable without them.
July 28, 2019 12:14 a.m.
@Illnez all 3 are not essantical for this Deck. Workshop with 24 Artifacts(24% off the Deck and nearly none above 1,0 average Cost) makes no sense. Twister can be strong in the early Game like Turn 1-3 with Mana acceleration. After that it gets weaker. A lot of Urza Decks try to win by milling themselfs and there Twister ist not realy a help. Imho he uses it mostly for Narset but there are other ways like Puzzle box or Memory Jar wich are both artifacts that can be tutored too and are more working with Urza. Tabernacle might be a problem as it is quite a strong anti uncounterable Creaturemassremovale. Espacially with winter Orb and Co.

KailDaemon Yah, those were my thoughts also.
As for lands, I might have mentioned that I'm an Arcum Dagsson player, so I know our playstyles will be different. However, have you ever considered manlands? They are a necessity for me, as I sacrifice them to Arcum, but they can also be used in a pinch as chump blockers and for metalcraft. Inkmoth Nexus and Blinkmoth Nexus are two examples. On a side note, my playstyle is rush out Arcum, then combo out. So some super helpful lands are the sac lands that provide more than one mana. City of Traitors , Svyelunite Temple , Saprazzan Skerry , and Crystal Vein are a few examples that put me a turn ahead when I need it the most, and a turn behind when it doesn't matter any more. Yes some enter tapped, but I still find it worth it turn 1 to play them if it means a turn 2 commander.
I do however understand the Back to Basics playstyle of wanting to maximize your basic lands. My apologies if you are already using any of these, they just came to mind so I'm writing them down.
