With how expensive some of your creatures are it seems to me a Mycosynth Golem would help alot. Especially since you tagged this affinity but I don't really see any. Also galvanic blast over shrapnel blast

MirrodinMan I've removed the tag so there is less confusion.

i like the deck a lot, but i think -1 Bident of Thassa and +1 hammer of phurporos would be better for more aggro, and since it can make 3/3 dudes for late game. also why the Springleaf Drum ? i mean, isnt there any better artifacts for 1 mana or less like Shield of the Avatar but also Haunted Plate Mail would be good if something goes wrong with your creatures, since Back to Nature will be used in many sideboards for this kind of deck.

Springleaf Drum is a sort of mana ramp just in case I can't ramp into the bigger artifacts very quickly. A turn 5 Doom Scuttle is better than a turn 6. It applies more pressure before they're quite ready for it, as well as helps significantly with mana fixing. As for preparing for Back to Nature , I'll just have to hope to hold up a counter spell for it since there is little artifact protection besides Soul of New Phyrexia 's mana ability. I've seen a lot of these decks run Hammer of Purphoros , and although I don't quite see it's versatility but the haste could be a finisher, so I'll consider it. I see no reason to use Shield of the Avatar since the deck does not produce any tokens and doesn't produce a significant number of creatures to make the damage prevention worth clearing a spot for. Haunted Plate Mail is interesting, I honestly forgot it was reprinted. I'll play with it to see how it goes, being a 4/4 for 4 is nice when I'm down creatures but I hate equip costs. And essentially paying 8 mana to get value out of it is a little shakey for me, but hey, that's what playtesting is for!
I appreciate the support from all of you helping me tweak this deck!

LusciousCabbage quite alright, looks like a grand deck for upcoming game day, but i think Haunted Plate Mail could be good, late game with spare mana to give a 5/5 flyer into a 9/9 wouldnt be too much of a waste, also in case you dont have the Soul of New Phyrexia then it could a small line of defence incase they pull off something like Mistcutter Hydra at that point, but playtesting would be the best way to go!

Indeed! Thanks for the feedback! I'm still working out how to pilot the thing as well as spot combos and the like. I'm honestly not sure what to do to counteract Mistcutter Hydra , maybe Polymorphist's Jest would come it at that point.

I've seen so many people play this deck, and I'm seriously starting to think about playing it... It seems like the next combo type deck:)

Wow, actually I really like this idea, I didn't realize how well this deck worked, although against counter decks, or burn decks, it could be really weak. playing an enchantment on an artifact, may cause you to lose 2 cards for one against burn decks while your enchantment is on the stack (which will cause you to lose to card advantage). Other than that, +1.

I know Generator gives you some more mana, but is 21 lands enough for your creatures?

matto89 that's what I'm wondering. I'm running 8 nonland mana sources on top of 21 lands on a really weird curve. What would you recommend I run mana-wise?
And to anyone reading this comment, what do you think?
September 27, 2014 11:56 p.m.
Lately I have been running 24 in most of my builds lately. Mono green, burn, etc. I run less if I am plaing like a weenie deck or if the curve doesn't go beyond 3/4. I think here, 24 would be perfect. I'd think the fetches would fit very nicely in here.
September 28, 2014 3:24 p.m.
So. Ideally. I think it'd look like 4 Temples, 4 Reef, 4 Polluted delta, 4 wooded foothills, 4 islands, and 4 mountains. I realize that is very generic and very very expensive. but maybe a two of each fetch and increase the basics to something more appropriate to what you have. Regardless, this deck looks like crazy fun. I hope it does well for you! Take a look at some of mine that I have posted. I could always use some inventive help, looks like that'd be in your department.

I feel like the hammer could be replaced by a Temur Ascendancy because it not only gives your creatures haste but it alsogives you more card draw

I would add that card in a heartbeat mcskivvies but the mana cost is just too restrictive with only 2 green sources in the deck. Sure I could splash, but I already have this mana base bought.

Needs more Rattleclaw Mystic more Scuttling Doom Engine less Winterflame less Steam Augury and more Ghostfire Blade
October 4, 2014 11:41 p.m.
More mana, Scuttly's the win con, Winterflame isn't all that useful and Anger of the Gods is more usefull in every way, Steam Augury is just a bad card except for one type of deck, Dig Through Time is a better choice and Ghostfire Blade is a nice card and is better to have a playset so they're hit
October 5, 2014 2:17 a.m.
Oh, I forgot Darksteel Citadel for that 5/5 Indestructible thing with Ensoul Artifact trust me, I love it in my deck Chandra's Artifacts

I've played around with Darksteel Citadel in the original draft of this deck and I've had several bad experiences with it. Not that the only sweeper in this format is End Hostilities , I'm not sure if running a colorless land is productive.
On the note of Winterflame and Steam Augury : I love Winterflame for its flavor and utility but I'm willing to make replacements I'm just not sure what there is in these colors that can fit that utility. Steam Augury In my opinion is an AMAZING card. It can be a draw 3 for 5 or draw 2 for 5 at instant speed. Sure you give you opponent a choice but it's interaction that is rare in magic now. I do have 1 Dig Through Time that I bought before they went to 15$. I'll play around with it.
What I'm looking for currently is a replacement for Winterflame and perhaps a new threat to replace Soul of New Phyrexia . He's a 6/6 for 6 with sweet abilities but I'm not sure if there is something even better out there that can fill his place.

Hey,
I think your deck is too mixed and you play too many high CMC Cards. Focus on less winconditions! My advice would be:
Cut Keranos, God of Storms , Prognostic Sphinx , Winterflame , Rattleclaw Mystic , Hammer of Purphoros and Steam Augury
Rattleclaw Mystic - wrong Color! Just with morph playable and that makes him really slow
Winterflame - I think its just not worth the mana! The flexibility it provides is nice... but 3 mana for 2 damage/tap :/
Steam Augury - I dont like to leave my opponent a choice :) and there are better choices (Treasure Cruise or Dig Through Time )
Prognostic Sphinx - I think you should decide on 1 or 2 big beaters not 3 and i think this is not the right deck for her!
Keranos, God of Storms - 5 mana is quite expesive and i think hes no "real" wincondition
Hammer of Purphoros - I can't see what he does here
I woul recommend the Darksteel Citadel turn 2 Indestructable 5/5 is quite nice!
End Hostilities is expensive but ALWAYS a threat for your Ensoul Artifact and the Citadel is indestructable :)
For "ramp" i would use 4x Springleaf Drum and 4x Chief Engineer . The engineer + Ornithopter Can enable a turn 3 Scuttling Doom Engine . In Addition to Springleaf Drum i would run some 1 drops too make better use of it.
So I would focus on winning with early Ensoul Artifact +Ornithopter /Darksteel Citadel or as a second win condition an early Scuttling Doom Engine .
Other good cards that would fit in are:
Phyrexian Revoker - Since there are so many Planeswalker he will shine in the future meta (at least i think so)
Daring Thief - Good synergies with Chief Engineer and Springleaf Drum
Singing Bell Strike - It slows down really well and surprised me in drafts
Tomb of the Spirit Dragon - this could help against Burn
Thassa, God of the Sea - Not sure about her
Bident of Thassa - card Draw and Chief Engineer makes it cheaper
So i hope I could help a little :)
P.S.: In my opinion are the Scry Lands too slow ! A control Deck might not notice it but playing a tapped Land turn 1 or 2 might force you to play Ensoul Artifact turn 3 (missing damage or increasing the risk of a counterspell)! I think the Pain Lands are enough for Mana fixing in a 2 colored deck.

I think I can help you I tested Rattleclaw Mystic and I know that you cast them for colorless as morphs and then flip them for colorless and then even tap it for a fourth mana but gen servants just work better because of the haste and Chief Engineer is better in rattleclaws spot. Phyrexian Revoker really helps shut down caryatid and planeswalkers and soul of phyrexia just ends up not being good unfortunately Because it's not worth the mana to protect anything besides Doom engine and itself and you want doom engine to die. So really you want another engine and maybe Ugin's Nexus or something in the other souls place. That's all I got.
October 13, 2014 4:58 p.m.
I gotta agree with everything he just said, since most your creatures are larger then 3 toughness you should swap the Lightning Strike for mainboard Anger of the Gods they just do so well against so many of the meta decks right now.
