What are the Snow-Covered Islands for? You're not running Extraplanar Lens or Scrying Sheets .
Blue Sun's Zenith , Pull from Tomorrow Is Bazaar of Baghdad too absurd? Cephalid Coliseum , Blasted Landscape , Ichor Wellspring

I love the list you have here! I would love to have an Urza deck of my own when he is released but I already have a CEDH deck with Kess, the Dissident mage and I do not think having 2 will let me get any lost friends back lmao. I do not honestly have many ideas to toss your way as this list is looking good but if i get any ideas I will surly head back this way. I think Adding Lab-Man could always be good but you have the new Jace for the same Idea too so idk. So yea i think you are doing this right.

Teferi, Mage of Zhalfir has a spot when going off with Urza. Once you have your exile pile ready to go cast him first to draw out any split second spells. You should have a healthy collection of counterspells to help get him through otherwise. After that its game over.

@Last_Laugh I'll playtest it and see how it runs.
@Rambolicious_0 Originally I was running both, but with Snow-Covered lands being popular because of Modern Horizons they will be more rampant making Lens far less valuable. Scrying Sheets is good, but I'm planing to play Back to Basics so the less non-basics I have probably the better. I do think I'll test sheets though... As far as your other suggestions I really like Pull instead of Stroke... Not a fan of Zenith or Bazaar here. Also Ichor Wellspring was cut, I really like it honestly but I just am having trouble cutting cards at this point.
@drcatherwood Thanks man I appreciate that! <3
@rphill82 Jesus... that'd be awesome... Plus a knowledge pool for that hard lock... ugh... But... I just don't know what I'd cut for him or how that'd affect my curve. It's definitely worth testing though.

DrkNinja - "I really like Pull instead of Stroke."
That's a little personal don't you think?
Ok, I got my 1/3 my actual age humor out of the way... I'll see myself out.

Just remember the comeback 'that's a little personal don't you think?' and you'll be golden Ponyboy.
It's best for when you're at work and people ask 'what time do you get off?'.

Deck seems...okay overall? Could still use some optimization, but you've got some neat tech.
Your interaction seems relatively lacking here - You're running Disallow and Arcane Denial , neither of which really sees any cEDH play, but no Spell Pierce , Dispel , Delay , or even Counterspell proper.
It lacks Timetwister (I'd expect it given that you ARE playing Tabernacle, so price doesn't seem to be a concern) and I'm not sure why Mindslaver is in here. Shrine of the Forsaken Gods should be a Strip Mine , and I'm honestly rather astonished at the lack of powerful stax pieces such as Grafdigger's Cage and friends.
(I also generally don't tag my decks as a primer until, you know, the primer is written, but...)

Daedalus19876 You got your own version in the works?
May 23, 2019 11:55 a.m.
@Daedalus19876 I like hard counters, over your Dispels and Delays of the world; just a personal preference. I cut Mindslaver because I don't play in a 1v1 pod and I was thinking about it in terms of a lock 1v1 with Academy ruins, but I like the Future Top combo far better. Shrine got cut for Vista... But I think Strip Mine definitely has a place here. Grafdigger's Cage has been something I've been thinking of running so... Having the recommendation affirms that I should play it. As far as the Timetwister goes... I get it, it's a great card... but another 2.5K for one card that the deck can do fine without... eh... If I ever stumble into a great deal on one definitely going in.

Rambolicious_0: I've considered it?
But I'm already currently Tinker ing with one artifact-based combo deck (The Dark Tower: Circu Citadel cEDH) and I'm enjoying that more (though I do think that Urza is stronger).
I don't have a cEDH meta currently so I don't have a strong incentive to build something quite that high-power.

I really don't have anything to offer in the way of advise. Kudos on getting into the cEDH playstyle. I think there will be a lot of Urza showing up there, and the decks will probably all play the same way. At least, that's what it looks like so far; I'm sure some folks will come up with some more fun or janky ways to play him, but for the most part, this deck style is the route Urza will go.
May 23, 2019 2:32 p.m.
@bushido_man96 I mean my deck is a little bit more unique because I'm playing a lot more hard lockdown stuff like the Karn/Lattice lock, but this is the optimal way to play Urza. Plus I was the first Urza deck on T/O I'm pretty sure, so... They are all like mine hehe lol

Very good point, DrkNinja! That earns you a +1!
Just throwing this out there, but how long til you think Urza gets banned?

Trail of Evidence might be worth considering. You get free mana rocks and if you feel like it, you can pop 'em for a card.

Dumb question but how does paradox engine and urza let you play your entire deck? paradox engine triggers on cast and urza’s ability isn’t casting. Or is that wrong? I’m not sure.
May 25, 2019 6:02 a.m.
@SakuraStorm I really like that synergy, and thinking about it now it might truly be worth it to draw the lands that come on top instead of having to Urza it... hmm... Any suggestions for cuts?
@ManBearPig2021 Play and Cast are synonyms in this case. I mean in order to play a spell you have to cast it right? The only other way would be to copy it and choose targets for the copy like Knowledge Pool says, but we aren't getting that text. Plus it says "without paying its mana cost" which means that you are casting, if it didn't that line of text would be irrelevant. So I'm not sure why they chose that wording but play is a synonym for cast in some cases.
Back in the day most cards said "play" instead of "cast" and then they irrata'd it to mean "cast," maybe is an homage to older cards out of the beginning of the modern era.

You should use Muddle the Mixture
BTW, Trophy Mage can tutor only 3cmc. Try Basalt Monolith + Rings of Brighthearth
May 25, 2019 1:22 p.m.
@atingtdmI meant to use Trinket Mage my apologies! The Brightheart Monolith isn't something that slots into this deck all that well...I'll consider it but I don't think it's worth right now.

SakuraStorm thank you for the clarification :) and I think it says play instead of cast so if you hit a land you can play it vs if it said cast if you hit a land you couldn’t cast it.
Last_Laugh says... #1
Your best bet is probably Fabricate but tutors are a LOT more likely to be countered especially in cEDH. Most people don't even know what Ancestral Knowledge does and it looks less threatening imo. Thus it's more likely to resolve. Run both?
