A Blue/Green Tron list that relies on searching and adapting. Four copies of Treasure Mage and
Ancient Stirrings
let me figure out my opponent's deck, then find the card most destructive to it.
A quick list of searchable artifacts, and some intended uses:
Wurmcoil Engine - A pretty solid beater, gains significant life against Burn and Zoo matchups, and can hit pretty hard, given a clear field.
Sundering Titan - Very solid against control matchups and Pod matchups, and doesn't usually bite me too hard. Also solid damage, but like Wurmcoil Engine, has no evasion, so blockers are annoying.
Steel Hellkite - Evasive damage, which can be increased dramatically with the Tron lands and its fire-breathing ability. Also, a good choice against tokens, zoo, and similar decks. Finally, acts as non-targeting spot removal to deal with hexproof.
Mindslaver - The go-to choice against control matchups, and burn matchups - usually can partially or completely clear an opponent's hand and/or board. Can also act as an alternate win condition when combined with Academy Ruins.
Platinum Angel
- Exists mostly to buy time, be it to an aggro list, or combo list. Essentially requires an opponent to find a relevant removal spell, giving you a few more turns, as well as some evasive damage.
Sideboard:
Grafdigger's Cage - Solid against graveyard plays, like Gifts Ungiven, and Goryo's Vengeance. Findable with Ancient Stirrings.
Melira, Sylvok Outcast - Choice against infect.
Nature's Claim - A side-in against Pod, Splinter Twin, and Affiniy, and various other artifacts and enchantments.
Platinum Angel
- Against any deck that tries to race, as well as various combos.
Pyroclasm - Does well against Zoo, Affinity, Infect, RDW, and other fast decks. Castable with Chromatic Star and Chromatic Sphere.
Spellskite - Usefull against RDW and control decks.
Torpor Orb - Shuts down Splinter Twin, Kiki-Pod, Snapcaster Mage, and other similar threats.
Please, suggest anything that you feel needs changing, I'm doing my best to start taking this to sanctioned events.
