What about swapping in 2 Fluxcharger for something? Perhaps the Elementals or Snapcasters?

...soo, would you consider throwing in some green? if so, my picks would be Giant Growth or Ranger's Guile or something like that. if you do splash green, you could win on turn two!
nonetheless, i love how flavorful you are with the description, +1 from me!
p.s.- check out my deck :3 Lets Cut A Little RUG

Saw the name of the deck and just had to look at it. I mean the idea of a used cyclops was already funny, but with your wonderful description of an izzet salesman it was just hilarious. Thanks for putting a grin on my face this morning. And the fact you used some relatively simple cards to bring 22 damage to the table is just great. +1 for sure. :)

I like this deck! Would it not be better to use Chandra than ral? Her ability to copy an instant or sorcery would seem better suited.

Loving your decks Saber! This is hilarious and very potent!

Cool list, I agree with the inclusion of Delver of Secrets Flip it's a much, much better card than Guttersnipe that people seems so keen on suggesting. A couple of thoughts would be have you tested Runechanter's Pike in the deck it maybe worth having them instead of Blistercoil Weird . Also Thought Scour maybe worth taking a look. One thing I'm curious about is the 4x Dispel in the mainboard, i'd have thought Syncopate would be far more useful to be in the main.

My guess is the main worry is counterspells on his armed/dangerous and artful dodge. Creatures aren't a huge worry and many decks will out-do him for mana, so I think that's the logic behind that choice. I agree with it on that basis anyway.

That makes sense but surely those are reasons for it being in the sideboard, to come in against control. Whereas as [syncopate] has the potential to help in all match-ups game 1.

@brady1993 As control in my meta is extremely prevalent, I'm not comfortable completely doing away with Dispel mainboard, but you make a fair point concerning Syncopate so I've swapped the ones in sideboard to main with Dispel to see how that plays out. ((As a small aside, Dispel isn't always worthless when counters aren't getting tossed around like candy. Countering ones own spells for a little extra damage has actually proven useful in the past...albeit a niche use and not something to justify a slot in and of itself, and something Syncopate arguably does better)
My main concern with Thought Scour is milling a cyclops. There are only four of them in the deck and while I see them most games, if I were to mill him out it would be rather painful. Instead I've decided to toy around with Forbidden Alchemy .
May 15, 2013 5:54 p.m.
That could prove even more detrimental with all the flashback and recurrence currently in standard.

I think the risks are pretty minor. There may be some flashback out there but not enough to worry about. Reanimator might not be a great deck to use it against but that's what a sideboard is for.
Also how about a Blood Crypt or a Watery Grave in place of a basic land? Just a couple, to help you with forbidden alchemy if the game goes long.
May 16, 2013 11:16 a.m.
That's not a terrible idea. I honestly simply wrote the flashback off and thought if I really wanted to, snappy was available. Hrm,

I built a similar Izzet deck when Dragon's Maze came out. I like the present concept a lot, but I simply find it impossible to play due to its extreme inconsistency. And even when your cards play out perfectly, it is very easy to be shut down by the opponent.
I think you should put back Goblin Electromancer , because there are curently five cards in your deck that would benefit from his ability. He is weak, but it's better your opponent wastes resources on him than Nivix Cyclops , which you desperately need to keep in play.
$25 Snapcaster Mage is a must in any deck generating U, but I have seen enough $2 Rest in Peace lately that I would just went with Melek, Izzet Paragon instead. You can't beat that card advantage.

My only question is why no Mizzium Mortars ?
Other than that I really like the design of this deck and will be messing around with some builds of it.

I like this deck and its combo +1. I build around Nivix Cyclops as well and inserted Nivmagus Elemental to give the opponent a nice threat on the first or second turn for all his removal he has. Afterwards the Cyclops has less to deal with. Izzet - controlled explosion

Guttersnipe for another win con. Makes all spells Burn spells as well. If anything, you can even use artful dodge twice on guttersnipe for a quick 4 damage which is nothing to look past considering you practically Pillar of Flame ed them twice. This also makes pillar hit for 4 and spear to hit for 5. Then imagine you had 2 guttersnipes out? pillar for 6 and spear for 7. Cast 2 spears for 4 mana to hit for 14. Ouch.

By all means, if you've got an idea run with it. If it works out let me know, I'm sitting on two Meleks ;)
