Hi,
Basicly i am trying to figure out if the amazing combots could benifit from adding white into the mix. Overall i think this version gains alot of consistency at almost no cost when assembly of the combo fails. The overal amount of creatures entering the battlefield even without a fully functional combo engine is enough to at least consider Soul Warden. Making the deck contain a bit more of that, would probably make it more consistent in a non-combo way.
The main changes:
Replaced
Mirran Spy
instead of Battered Golem.
Replaced
Golem Foundry
and half the Genesis Chamber for 2 Soul Warden and 2 Soul's Attendant to gain life instead of myr tokens.
Added 2 Ajani's Pridemate to get some synergy going with lifegain.
Increased the amount of
Altar of the Brood
to become main win condition.
Added Trinket Mage on 2 spare spots to tutor for
Altar of the Brood
or either of the 0 mana artifact creatures (Ornithopter/Memnite).
The combo after changes:
Midnight Guard / Battered Golem are the bodies.
Banishing Knack
/
Retraction Helix
are still the bounce mechanic.
Ornithopter / Memnite are still the 0 mana artifact creatures that trigger the loop.
Altar of the Brood
/ Soul Warden / Soul's Attendant / Genesis Chamber are the more diverse mechanics that benifit from the loop.
Lands:
I tried to incorperate some UW without fetches or duals. As the goal should be honored to keep this budget'ish. These ones are relatively cheap but very usefull in most UWx decks and should be a decent investment overall.
Maybeboard:
Considering Paradise Mantle to get mana instead of a bounce (only works if we have the bounce mechanics on a 2nd engine). With infinite mana comes Increasing Confusion as a second mill win condition. Adding the Paradise Mantle just for mana acceleration seems like a waste, there are probably better cheap artifacts that do a fine job of ramping a turn. HELP appreciated
Considering
Leonin Squire
as it could revive Ornithopter or Memnite or even
Altar of the Brood
if the opponent somehow interupts our gameplan by getting rid of either.
Considering adding
Patrol Signaler
and Training Grounds if Paradise Mantle does come in. (patrol signaler taps for 1 white, untaps to activate his ability for 1 white after getting a 2 grey discount from training ground and thus gets a token for effectively no cost, rince and repeat)
