First deck post!
I'm usually an aggro/midrange guy, been trying to find a control deck I enjoy playing. This one I find to be a lot of fun.
The goal is to shut the opponent down, usually by having Stonehorn Dignitary enter the battle field every turn.
One of the great things about this deck is that the "combo" of flickering your creatures is excellent defense against removal. Any "target creature" spell is nullified when my creature leaves the battlefield, and I can block with my guys then flicker to essentially negate any combat damage.
Classic shutdown:
Stonehorn Dignitary + Archaeomancer + Ghostly Flicker or Ghostway: Target opponent doesn't get a combat phase.
Other things to do:
Blade Splicer + any blinking spell (except Ghostway unfortunately): Multiple 3/3 first strike artifact tokens. Great for defense or offense.
Inquisitor Exarch
+ Archaeomancer + Ghostly Flickers or Ghostway: 2 life for every 3 mana you have.
Augury Owl or Wall of Omens + any blinking spell: Serious card advantage.
Other cards:
Venser, the Sojourner: Perfect for this deck, if you got the dignitary out on turn 4 and this guy comes out on turn 5, you have a way of constantly shutting down their combat phase. Doesn't take long to get his -8 out, and if you have enough golems you can usually just use his -1 to win to game.
AEtherling: This guy is in here as another win condition. Typical aetherling fashion he wins games on his own.
Detention Sphere: Because there's stuff out there you just don't want to have to deal with.
Wrath of God: If you're not set up on turn 4, this is a pretty good choice. Also, you could flicker your important stuff and play this. It's possible to have an infinite wrath combo: 7 mana 2xArchaeomancer + Ghostway + Wrath of God.
Lone Missionary: If you're playing an aggro deck, this guy lets you take hits early on. Once you get him out if you're low on life you can flicker him to quickly get back in the game.
Sideboard is one ofs cards I thought about including, but they didn't fit for one reason or another.
Happy to hear comments/suggestions, been testing this for a while and finally put it together so I'm going to try playing some friends. Please remember, this is a casual deck.
Thanks very much!
