Hmm good point. I'll have to address that when I build my sideboard. Do you have any suggestions?

Wait for it to cycle out. Or, more counters. Also Geist of Saint Traft and Snapcaster Mage can help!

Thanks for the input! I've made a few changes. I added Geist of Saint Traft and upped the Mana Leak to a full playset. To make room for these additions I took out Temporal Mastery and dropped to two Devastation Tides. Do we like the changes? What about ideas for the sideboard?

Counters should be sideboard. You can always side in your Surgical Extraction and Negate over Mana Leak for sure. If someone tries to extract your Entreat the Angels simply Negate or Surgical Extraction and fail to find in response...or just Noxious Revival and that gives you ten answers to Surgical Extraction. Run Batterskull over Geist of Saint Traft it sticks around a lot longer. Also it needs at least 26 land. In all my testing a majority of games with a missed land drop I lost.

Great input thanks! I made some more changes, replaced geists with batterskulls and took mana leaks out to add Feeling of Dread. I'm keeping the lands as-is. In my play-testing I haven't had a problem with land so I'll keep it at 25 for now. I can change it later if it becomes a problem.

Why not use Visions of Beyond over Thought Scour? It's just better, and seeing that it's a standard deck, why not use the better card?

I like Thought Scour because it opens up more versatility for Noxious Revival .

if they Surgical Extraction your Entreat the Angels you can Thought Scour + Tamiyo Emblem to mill them out.

I like Temporal Mastery but I like the other miracles better so for consistency's sake I would rather have more of them in place of TM.

I added Cathedral Sanctifier to my sideboard. They seem like a cheap way to by me time against aggro decks.

Really? Maybe. I don't know what I could take out thougt that wouldn't compromise the synergy with the miricle/contol strategy.

I know it's not exactly in the theme, and about to cycle about, but think about Shrine of Boundless Growth . Play it early, then control and stall as usual. By the time you can use Entreat the Angels , you'll have an extra four or five mana stored up, which can make it all the more devastating. +1!

I feel like you should try running Ghost Quarter (3-4, wolf run is making a come back and you NEED to answer inkmoth) and a few green sources like two 2-ofs of Hinterland Harbor and Sunpetal Grove (Razorverge Thicket might be better). I say drop a playset of draw spells (Think Twice or Thought Scour ) and add a playset of Timely Reinforcements to the main, aggro is huge right now. For the control matchup, you can splash a few black sorces like Isolated Chapel and Drowned Catacomb for the flashback on lingering souls or try a Karn Liberated , 1-2 Jace, Memory Adept and 1-2 Increasing Confusion for the classic mill package. I might look into another way of gaining the upper edge as well like Elspeth Tirel and Gideon Jura works well too, planeswalkers are hard to answer once they land for control decks. So maybe this sideboard?
2x Negate
2x Spellskite
or something to that effect, I might also add in 2 Surgical Extraction for frites and the like; and mainboard
-4x Think Twice /Thought Scour +4 Timely Reinforcements
-1 Noxious Revival -1 Feeling of Dread +2 Gideon Jura
-4 island, -3 plains +3 Ghost Quarter +2 Hinterland Harbor +2 Sunpetal Grove /Razorverge Thicket or some combination thereofI do not think he needs to worry too much about Surgical Extraction , to my knowledge I am one of the few nutjobs who still sideboards that card. I have a finished list that I am testing like this one (seems good against r/g/x aggro) called An Empire State of Mind, I would appreciate any advice that could be offered,

I like Gideon Jura he's great for stalling the board while I work on getting my army of angels out. I also agree that Timely Reinforcements needs to be in the mainboard. I got rid of Think Twice it was only useful to draw on my opponent's turn but I can wait until my draw step to pull miricles and I decided to keep Thought Scour because it works so well with Noxious Revival . The green mana is a good idea. I will probably eventually add them but i dont think that they are vital to the deck so I'm not gonna put them as a priority to acquire. Thanks a lot for the advice! I really appreciate it!

I feel like you need 1 more of Gideon and Tamiyo, so you have 3 copies of each. DawnsRayofLight also makes a good point with Elspeth Tirel - her ult destroys nontokens, and you mainly make tokens so it won't inconvenience you at all. Karn Liberated is always a good idea because of his raw power.
Since you're a lot lighter on miracles than Haynes, I don't think you need Noxious Revival too much, although it does have some good synergy with Thought Scour . Personally I prefer Think Twice since you can use it more times (you don't have Snapcaster Mage ) and if you can get Tamiyo's emblem, you have no need for Noxious Revival,. A lot of people are using Pristine Talisman to stave off aggro and get additional mana for Entreat the Angels.
Batterskull I'm not sure about. You don't have any targets for it aside from Gideon and angel tokens from 3 Entreat the Angels , so Wurmcoil Engine might be better in its place. It's more resilient to traditional removal too.

I have been playing a U/W Miracle deck for the past few months and this is an interesting idea. Batterskull does not fit because even though he has is a living weapon. You must run 4 Think Twice as it is one of the best draw cards in standard. Timely Reinforcements is a solid sideboard card and not to be main boarded. Tamiyo, the Moon Sage be upped to 3 or 4. Cathedral Sanctifier has no purpose being in your sideboard it is terrible in this type of deck. I see the use of Noxious Revival being good for the miracles but adding the green mana sources messes up with the mana base and hurts you. I would lower the count down to two and add two Snapcaster Mage s main board. Def up Entreat the Angels to 4.
Playing so much I can tell you that wolf run and delver are this decks worst matchups. Youn need to sideboard 4 Vapor Snag s. Divine Deflection is pretty good too especially vs heavy burn decks and Hellrider . You need to main board at least two counters, Dissipate like Hayne did, so you can hold it when you get the emblem.
Check out my deck deck:new-miracle-deck-comments-please I have done pretty good with the build winning a bunch of FNM.

Definitely drop the Batterskull s.
If you're having serious problems with WRR, you could always fall into Team Pick-Favorite-RWU-Country Control, adding red for Whipflare (or Rolling Temblor ) and Bonfire of the Damned . All sweepers, all the time. Maybe add Fog Bank for speed bumps, and perhaps Marrow Shards (can be swapped out for the M13 Rain of Blades ) to deal with the Inkmoths and Wolf-run-Birds.
I wouldn't worry about running green for the Noxious Revival s, just use the Phyrexian mana cost... but definitely drop them to 2-3. No need to have a fist of them with nothing useful in the grave

Thanks for all the input I'll have to see what I can do too prove the deck. I don't know how much more money I want to put into this deck especially since a lot of the cards you two are talking about are cycling out in two months. I do really appreciate the feedback though!
July 30, 2012 4:16 a.m.
Just to let you know the changes I recommended dont rotate out, except for Surgical Extraction . Your match up with delver is really bad right now, I know all too well lol.

I don't seem to have too much trouble with Delver Decks (at least in extensive playtesting). The reason I like Batterskull is the ability to bring it back to my hand so if it the germ token dies to a Terminus I can bring it back out and still get use out of it without other creatures. I really like the Rain of Blades ! I will definitely sideboard them and bring them in against WRR. I also am not convinced about Think Twice . I use to have them in but they never seemed to be that useful. I have to have a Ponder to make them consistently useful other wise its just a crap shoot. I feel like I have more control with Thought Scour dumping cards in my graveyard for me to use Noxious Revival on when it is the most beneficial for me.

What if someone uses Surgical Extraction on Entreat the Angels? Do you just lose?
