Sideboard

I have kept it straight UW for the best mana base possible, which I have found more valuable than the options that come with a splash color. As with any stoneblade deck, you have to be patient and realize that you aren't going to be getting any turn 4 or 5 kills. The best part of this deck for me is that you have ways to interact with just about every deck out and you don't feel helpless in match-ups too often. It also lets you embrace a variety of roles depending on the match-up. It can play more aggressively against combo opponents or it can slow the game down and grind out other fair decks. This variety is what has allowed me to play this deck for three years without getting bored of it!

Card Choices:

4x Stoneforge Mystic - This is arguably the strongest card and the namesake of this deck. Always run the full set in this build, no questions asked.

2x Snapcaster Mage - He is one of my main sources of card advantage. Snapcaster also allows this deck to have more of the critical cards we need for each matchup. Against jund and zoo we get additional copies of Swords to Plowshares and against combo we get more Spell Pierce; extra Brainstorm are always nice too! The reason I don't play 4 is because multiples in the opening hand can be awkward and there are a lot of 3 mana spells I want to jam!

2x Mishra's Factory - This is a great land that gets even better in multiples. This is arguably the biggest advantage that straight UW decks have over three color mana bases of esper and UWR. We get to play a land that is able to effectively block a lot of creatures and serve as a win condition in certain situations. This land also gives us game against Standstill decks that aren't expecting us to have man-lands.

Updates Add

I'm gonna try something a little different by going down to 22 land and making room for 3x Ponder. I got the idea after building uw delver with 10 cantrips last week and figured it was worth a shot in blade. One problem with this deck is drawing the wrong half of your deck in games (ie. Swords to Plowshares against storm or Force of Will against Jund) so I am hoping that Ponder will help me find the appropriate cards during each match.
