This deck looks pretty scary, man!

A few things I would say is that 4x Celestial colonnade is a bit much. I'd run 2 at max, as having successive lands enter tapped is no bueno. I'd also cut down the Giest to 2, as you never really wanna see him in your hand when you already have him on the field. Have you thought of throwing in a kikki-exarch combo?

Antosa says... #2

Yeah, I thought about Kikki. What do you think about a singleton of Sphinx's Revelation?

November 17, 2014 3:42 p.m.

I'm not entirely sure. If you're going to go the kiki-exarch route, I'm not sure if there's room to jam one in there- dig through time is just so useful for setting up those combo pieces.

If I added the combo, how man Exarch should I add? I mean. It doesn't seem that useful to even add Exarch because there's Kiki-Resto combo.

I'm not sure. 2 Exarch and 1 more angel sounds like it could work.

I made a slight tweak to the sideboard. What do you think?

I think it's pretty good, but I don't really see you needing Tempest of Light, unless your meta is very Bogle-heavy.

Aggro has been pumped heavily by treasure cruise, so good cards for you to consider are Anger of the Gods and Tormod's Crypt.

I really like Engineered Explosives against affinity, as if you start with it in your hand, you can cast it for 0-1 and wipe them with ease on T2 :3

Antosa says... #8

What if I did Relic of Progenitus instead? Even in Bogle heavy formats, Spellskite is a thing.

November 17, 2014 5:42 p.m.

slovakattack says... #9

Spellskite can't change the target of Tormod's Crypt?

November 17, 2014 5:45 p.m.

Antosa says... #10

No, I was talking about it changing the targets of Bogle enchantments.

November 17, 2014 5:54 p.m.

slovakattack says... #11

Oh, yeah. Spellskite is awesome. You may even want to run 2.

How would I fit a second one in, though?

November 17, 2014 6:29 p.m.

One-of Eiganjo Castle should replace a Ghost Quarter to protect your Geist.

November 17, 2014 7:57 p.m.

Antosa says... #14

I can see that. So, then would I also then replace one Celestial Colonnade with a Ghost Quarter? Or are they fine?

You built this deck?

Do you have any friends left?

Some reason I just wanted to mention: Sideboards to maybe try some time....???

Void Snare .... It might be nice to know what Vendilion Clique is gonna target.

Cloudshift if they manage to Counter-Resto or something?.... 1 Mana to Flicker Mage?

And in your original Description of the deck: Keep or Drop Geist?... does a sideboard work for Wake the Reflections... I usually see that Token Angel get Exiled at turns end... Populate, Flicker the Mage (cloudshift), and Populate again... 2x 4/4 fliying angels for WW .... if the token dies, hopefully Geist didn't.... try and populate next turn?

Wow, A$$#@!# Deck!

Hope these help..... Kind-of......

Perhaps replace 2 of the colonnades with 1x Ghost Quarter and 1x Tectonic Edge?

November 18, 2014 11:45 a.m.

Antosa says... #17

Well.. Void Snare seems like a solid card anyway because it's spot removal for Delvers and big Vault Skirges. But I think Vapor Snag would do the trick better. As for the Cloudshift, Wake the Reflections combo.. it seems fun, but gathering the 4 cards it takes to make the combo could be difficult. And maybe makes it unviable. I think consistency is important in Modern.

Okay! So, I lowered to 2 Celestial Colonnade for some Mutavault. Or is that bad?

November 18, 2014 12:23 p.m.

slovakattack says... #19

Well... kinda. Mutavault doesn't really have synergy with anything else on your board. Look at it like this: Why is Mutavault good in Fish? Because of all the Lords. Mutavault isn't really all that great in a vacuum... which is what it is currently in. It needs cards like Lord of Atlantis to be truly beneficial. You don't have any of that kind of stuff here.

It just also seems bad to have 4x Lands that I have to sac to destroy lands. Because that puts me behind on land drops.

Browser Crashed so had to type this out twice.

In the mana base. the Mutavaults don't fit and are much worse than 2 more Colonnade, The vault has no synergy with the rest of the deck and dies to Bolt. Colonnade taps for coloured mana and the Enter the battlefield tapped rarely comes up. The 2 Ghost Quarters are not as good in a deck that runs Mana Leak, unless your plan is you disrupt a Turn 3 Tron Tectonic Edge is strictly better (minus the slight cost).

I am relectunt to offer Sideboarding advice as this is extremely metagame dependent but Counterflux, Dispel, Molten Rain and Stony Silence are solid choices should they be needed.

I would cut a Giest and a Remand for another Electrolyze and a Dig Through Time. Forked Bolt is also incrediblewith Delver being as prolific as it is.

The KikiCombo is only really good when Jund is a prolific deck. Unless your expecting Jund I would stay away from adding it. Plus UUU in Cryptic and RRR in Kiki can be rough sometimes.

Hope I Helped, If you disagree with anything please say, I would love to hearyour reasoning :)

Antosa says... #22

So, do you think 4 Colonnade, or no? I agree that Delver is strong, but I do also have plenty of removal for them. I also feel like more than 2 Electrolyze is a bit excessive.

November 18, 2014 4:16 p.m.

bijschjdbcd says... #23

Ok, So the reason delveris strong is its resiliency, Treasure Cruise just pumps the hand disgustingly, to win this matchup you need quality 2-1s...

I run 3 Electrolyze in my control and think its great. Say your delver opponent is on the draw and plays a Delver turn one and it doesnt flip, then turn 2 drops Young Pyro, You can then Zap their dudes and draw a card. Test that though if yourunsure...Forked bolt is also a card to consider.

Colonnade is amazing definitely run 4.

Trust me, My removal is almost the same in my control and I still find it hard to keep up with the Cruise.

November 18, 2014 4:24 p.m.

You should be playing four Colonnades and probably 25 lands. While you are more aggressive than other UWR decks, having only 12 creatures means that lots of games will force you to take a controlling role. Lots of matchups will also force you to sideboard out Geist, so four Colonnades are needed to have a more reliable wincon.

November 18, 2014 4:33 p.m.

slovakattack says... #25

Derp, I didn't even see that you already had Ghost quarter there. Yeah, I'd run only 1 Ghost Quarter, and 1 Tectonic edge.

If you're having a problem with delver, try Gut Shot. It kills Delver before it can morph, and is very difficult to respond to.
