Modern Spirits deck, semi control.Built to take a mostly standard deck into modern without breaking the bank.
Let's start with the creature base:
Drogskol Captain: Powerful anthem effect for spirit creatures.
Mausoleum Wanderer: Keeps opponents off curve, and can be flashed in later with Rattlechains. Side out against aggressive creature based decks.
Rattlechains: allows you to play almost entirely on your opponents turn (allowing you to gather information), also protects other spirits. All attached to a 2/1 flyer with flash.
Spell Queller: Just a broken good card, and a spirit... hmm...
Spirit of the Labyrinth: This card is deceptively good. Shuts down sorcery speed draw spells, is insane with an upkeep use of Geier Reach Sanitarium or Mikokoro, Center of the Sea, and good 3 power for two mana.
Spells:
Lingering Souls: provides consistent creatures with good card advantage, and works with Geier Reach Sanitarium. Overall, allows you to go wide.
Mana Leak and Remand cost effective tempo-based counterspells.
Path to Exile Best removal in the format.
Think Twice Instant speed card draw that can be re-used
Land base is a little clunky due to budget constraints, however, it is built around mana being up in the early parts of the game. Shocklands, Sac-lands, and more SOM lands can fix these issues easily (for a hefty price tag)
