@ Turtle338872 I was actually considering Knight of Autumn to add to my deck but am not quite sure what I would get rid of to do so. If you could "choose 2" with her ability it would be a no-brainer, and while I do like her flexibility, running 4 Qasali Pridemage currently feels like enough when it comes to enchantment/artifact hate, as well as a playset of Kitchen Finks to help with the life gain. Her ETB-only ability makes her a little limiting in my opinion.

Should have Knight of Autumn in the deck somewhere.

Have you tried Crown of Convergence .

@ Feltrix I have the card but have never really given it much consideration. I think it probably is time to playtest with 1 or 2 tho and see how it fits

Nice deck, aggressive and effective.

Sideboard seems a little too all-over-the-place, but i guess this is what you have to do when you play against the modern meta.

Although, why Dryad Arbor and Treetop Village ? Don't get me wrong i like the cards but at this setup you might be better of with 1-2 basics instead. I mean Stirring Wildwood already comes tapped, and Sunpetal Grove needs a basics bad.

Birds of Paradise is a really nice creature, flying and ramp is great in this deck, but the lands might slow you down too much.

I really like your creature base, that list can give some extreme pressure on the opponent, Kitchen Finks and Voice of Resurgence sticks around after a wrath. Maybe Experiment One ?

I like the deck, but I don't think value town is well positioned at all right now. I'm going to second the suggestion for Knight of Autumn , since it's good against affinity, whir prison, burn, and at worse is a 4/3 for 3. I'd take out some of the Lieges for it since they're pretty slow. I'd also consider some utility lands like Ghost Quarter to grab with knight of the reliquary, and possibly a Bojuka Bog in sideboard. Speaking of graveyard hate, most decks are running a ton of it right now because Hogaak is absolutely busted and Phoenix is also super strong, so maindeck Rest in Peace , Relic of Progenitus , or Leyline of the Void might be necessary if you want a chance game 1 against a lot of decks since you're a much slower deck, and maindeck Thalia, Guardian of Thraben helps against some of the non-hogaack combo decks. If you're just using this against an FNM with a pretty fair meta you can ignore everything I said. Like the deck.

I think 4 Qasali Pridemage is a bit much, especially with 3 KoA already. I think maybe take out 2-3 Pridemage for as many copies of Eladamri’s Call. I also second 1-2 Thalia, Guardian of Thraben in the maindeck.

VaultSkirge I'd honestly prefer to lose 1 Knight of Autumn and keep the 2-drop in Qasali Pridemage . Especially since it has bailed me out many times. But I will playtest with the Thalia; its been a while since I have.

I'm not seeing the value here? Just some creatures that dont have too much value? I think Eternal Witness is value and some other cards you do not have in here.

@ jesmister ... "just some creatures that don't have too much value"

I've play-tested with other cards like Eternal Witness, Collected Company, Loxodon Smiter, and Birds of Paradise just to name a few, but currently am content with where this deck is at and how it fares in competition.

If you can't see any sort of value in this deck I'd recommend getting your eyes checked, or at least turning your brain on before posting another clueless comment like that :)

I'm not saying its a bad deck, yes all of your creatures are really good. Just saying this isn't a value deck it's just a selesnya good creature deck.

It is a little weird to call it valuetown without gavony. That said, have you tested Pulse of Murasa? Playing extra pridemage or autumn in a game does a lot, and the life gain is very relevant. Its definitely in the running for at least a couple sideboard slots.

lagotripha I haven't followed the last few set releases that closely but this looks decent. I think I'll give it a try.

Really solid build, and I particularly like the artwork on that variant Path to Exile. I hadn’t seen that version of the card before, it reminds me of Bitterblossom’s artwork. I wouldn’t be surprised if it was the same artist. Quite nice!

Deck looks good overall, here are some thoughts I had after reading it:

Pacifism is pretty bad, and you don't really have any aura synergies with it. Iff you really want 8 removal spells, Journey to Nowhere is just way better. I think you could probably cut down to 6 total removal spells though since you have Skyclave Apparition. You could also try running Prismatic Ending, replacing a plains with a Sacred Foundry or something like that for a third color (and maybe adding some extra fetches).

I can't help noticing that you don't have any dig like Collected Company or tutors like Chord of Calling. CoCo is might not be the best here since you only have 22 hits which is far from enough. I think Chord of Calling is worth considering, especially if you decide to go for a more toolbox-valuetown build (maybe with some Sanctifier en-Vec, Auriok Champion, and Sanctum Prelate mainboard). It's probably fine without either of those but I just wanted to throw out some ideas.

You also don't have any real turn 1 plays, since Path to Exile and Rancor don't really count. Imo you should really have at least a few, so you don't start off every game already losing tempo on the first turn. The first suggestion I have for a 1 drop is Noble Hierarch, which makes all the types of mana you need early game and has some use mid-late game with exalted. She can also make blue mana if you want to exile a 3 cmc permanent with Prismatic Ending (so the foundry is probably not needed). My other suggestion is Esper Sentinel, since he either stalls the game by taxing your opponent or gives you tons of card advantage. Stick a Rancor, Angelic Destiny, or Wilt-Leaf Liege and you'll be drawing cards all day.

Happy brewing :)

Do you plan on using Lion Sash in addition to Scavenging Ooze

kamarupa says... #23

Maybe drop 1x Skyclave Apparition for 1x Mangara of Corondor because: Skyclave at sorcery speed is already slower than Instant (the slot isn't fast removal), Mangara has no MV restriction, and Mangara doesn't give opponents a token. Also, once on the battlefield, Mangara can be sacced at instant speed, making it more versatile after summoning sickness. It's good to sac Mangara because it's legendary, so having multiple copies in a deck doesn't make it a dead card.

zapyourtumor says... #24

Mangara has summoning sickness so you have to wait a turn to remove something which also gives your opponent an opportunity to remove it, and it doesn't leave behind a 2/2 body. So probably not worth it.
