No Budget No Slack All Work No Play

We ramp up big ASAP and try to get haste of some sort. I try not to play Vaevictis Asmadi, the Dire unless I can give him haste because he will eat removal. Sometimes I will let people choose their own targets either as a show of good will or as part of a deal.

Yes, a lot of the eldrazi have on cast triggers. The real reason we run them is because mana (hopefully) won't matter and the big attack and annihilator are what we really want. We also run enough mana that we will eventually be able to actually cast them for those triggers. At that point, if you weren't archenemy, you will be. For recursion, we run Haunted Crossroads, Volrath's Stronghold, Eternal Witness, and the shuffle titans: Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre and Kozilek, Butcher of Truth. These cards work well with Fauna Shaman, Survival of the Fittest, and Wheel of Fortune. Anger also works well with those cards. With Survival of the Fittest, the shuffle titans have a fun line if you need to grab a creature in your graveyard back into your hand where you pitch any creature, grab a shuffle titan, pitch shuffle titan, resolve the shuffle titan trigger, and grab the card from your deck that was just in your graveyard. It costs a total of 2 green mana and you need one creature in hand.

Mana dorks are too easy to kill, I'd rather not run them in this deck. Mana rocks survive the Ugin, the Spirit Dragon. Culling Ritual hits both small rocks and every dork worth running. The larger rocks like Hedron Archive, Gilded Lotus, The Great Henge, and Dreamstone Hedron. All of those, once they're out, are better than Mana Vault and Mana Crypt.

Spine of Ish Sah is hilarious when you get to keep recasting it after sacrificing it to Vaevictis Asmadi, the Dire's trigger.

Important Ruling: If any of the target permanents aren't sacrificed (most likely because one of them became an illegal target, such as by gaining hexproof), that permanent's controller won't reveal the top card of their library or put it onto the battlefield.
