My playgroup has been disappointed that official development of the Partner mechanic seems to discontinued, as the concept is one of the most exciting things to happen to magic in recent years. So, after careful consideration we have decided to experiment with a house-rule that treats the 20 uncommon legends from Dominaria as though they had Partner. I decided to brew with these two because 1. the deck is blue/red voltron, a combination which doesn't otherwise really exist; 2. The goal of this Voltron deck is not to kill with commander damage but to go wide, which also doesn't really exist outside of maybe Kemba; And 3. With it's incredibly low mana curve it's an aggro style deck that's potentially viable in edh, and aggro strategies have traditionally struggled immensely in the format.
