Back when I still played Modern, the only way that people could get me to play Commander was for them to let me play one of their decks with one stipulation: I didn't want them to tell me what the deck was supposed to do. I wanted to just read the commander and enjoy figuring it out as I played. So, naturally, when I finally decided to make a Commander deck, I wanted something that would scratch the same itch of playing other peoples' decks and piecing things together. Grixis was typically the colors you wanted to be in to steal other peoples things, but I hated blue as a color in magic. So, at that time, that left only one possible Commander that was on-theme for me to use: Valki

Due to the theme of the deck being "play other peoples' decks", you'll find that there really isn't a solid method of winning in the deck itself with one exception: Door to Nothingness. While it is technically illegal to be run in the deck, the people I play with have all agreed that it can (and should) be rule 0'd into the deck with one rule: only mana from non-gold, non-treasure sources can be used to activate it. The idea is that I have to accumulate enough methods of off-colored mana generation from my opponents to use it. It could easily be taken out of the deck if someone isn't ok with rule-0'ing it in and the deck would still work just fine.
