This started out as a pet deck but I think it is actually very strong. Mt current record is not fantastic with it but I think that is more down to me not knowing the pauper format super well, and making poor play decisions rather then the weaknesses of the deck.
The deck is built around interactions with the card Undying Evil, which on the surface seems quite a weak card but when you are able to play it as a 1 mana draw two cards, well that is quite good.
Undying Evil interacts very favorably with
Mull Drifter
, allowing you to pay 4 mana and two cards to draw four cards and get a 3/3 with flying. Sometimes times this can be interrupted with a removal spell or a counter spell, but in that case it means that you still traded cards in a 1 for 1. Which over all in this deck will usually favor you.
Other cards that interact well with Undying Evil are Vulturous Aven, Gurmag Drowner and
Silumgar Butcher
.
The deck plays Coiling Oracle, Sakura-Tribe Elder and Satyr Wayfinder to help stay alive in the early game as well as to up the card quality of your early turns. They also act as creature to be Exploited later in the game and also help fill up the graveyard for casting a Gurmag Angler, between the mid and late game.
The main deck removal package focuses on Chainer's Edict and a singleton Innocent Blood, which can take care of most threats in the early part of the game, while later the card advantage and larger creatures will out class most opponents.
Ponder and Read the Bones help to smooth the curve of the deck out and put you ahead in awkward games. And
Soul Manipulation
interacts very well with the deck, allowing you to keep the board clear as well as recurring cards from earlier in the game for more card advantage which in some cases can be enough to put the game away all by itself.
