Yeah, as it is a really nice deck with good synergy.. It just seems that White is just to good not to run right now I'v noticed. I realized that after playing my Black Red vamps against them.

I had a nice white black brew in mind but it was going to cost so much to be good... So I'm working on a mono black zombie deck which I'm about to start testing :)

What in particular are you having trouble against? Maybe I can help figure out a way around it.

Black Green has completely dominated the meta right now after it did well in pro tour Madrid and everyone and their uncle copied it lol, but I also had struggles with bant sometimes and white, the deck plays well but it's just a tough meta, I'm running a total hand hate / board wiping / zombie tribal deck now. It's in the preliminary testing phases (I literally just threw it together) but you can check it out if you want, it's holding up quite well so far and will only get better. I have a week to playtest it before grand prix

Mindwracked Zombies

There's just too much board wipe going on to play aggro, this way I can wipe up the wipers and still do well hehe

Why did you ditch the Ruinous Path

April 24, 2016 10:25 p.m.

TriikT says... #11

Yeah Zombies are much much slower, Which usually leads to losing to aggro decks.

Totally, I thought that mono black with Kalitas + Liliana with zombies and Mindwrack Demon to survive Languish would be better but there was no tempo with the zombies, if there were better one drop zombies to fuel Diregraf Colossus then maybe it would have been viable. Possibly in the new set... but I went back to a previous version of this deck that had preformed better and I am pleased with it's current progress :)

So, I've got a Kalitas, Traitor of Ghet that I could mainboard and a pair of Liliana, Heretical Healer  Flip that I could sideboard but neither of them seem to fit the deck particularly well. I tested them a while back and they weren't all that effective for me. What are your thoughts on those cards in the deck?

_Delta_ says... #14

Well you have the Fiery Temper, Lightning Axe, Sinister Concoction and Avacyn's Judgment, I would give Kalitas, Traitor of Ghet a try.

Late game both might be good, if by some reason you need something more powerful, and Liliana, Heretical Healer  Flip can bring something back.

Still need to test this change, but I took out Lightning Axe to bump the lands up to 22 and made Sinister Concoction a 4 of as it's been better at both enabling deliruim and killing creatures. I want to reduce the chance of getting mana screwed, it's a terrible way to lose and I find that I rarely use Lava Axe and board it out pretty often.

How come you took avaricious dragon out? Was it not performing

April 28, 2016 10:46 a.m.

malin10 says... #17

And what happened to call the bloodline? lol hows the deck been doing?

April 28, 2016 10:58 a.m.

Demention says... #18

Avaricious Dragon was not performing as I had hoped, it dies to Languish and Grasp of Darkness too often and rarely is able to provide the card advantage that one would like to gain from it. Call the Bloodline is a nice card but it can end up being too slow sometimes and it's overall power level feels limited in most games, a lot of the time it felt like it only slowed the inevitable where as the stronger cards I put in are winning the games. With only a day and a bit left until Grand Prix I'm pretty happy with the current composition as it beats Bant Company, Mono White Humans, Seasons Past, Green Black Aristocrats and Sphinx's Tutelage Mill decks which are the biggest contenders right now all relatively easily.

Also any thoughts on adding markov dreadknight? And possibly from under the floorboards?

April 28, 2016 11:48 a.m.

Demention says... #20

Markov Dreadknight isn't very good which is too bad as it's such a cool name... unfortunately the casting cost is too high and it dies to most things before it's ability can be used and the high casting cost of the ability limits your madness options. From Under the Floorboards is pretty cool, I honestly think that mono black zombies is going to be an amazing deck in the next set but it's just missing a few more pieces, more specifically it really just needs some decent one drops and hopefully some better midrange stuff to be top tier.

April 28, 2016 12:09 p.m.

_Delta_ says... #21

Yeah I have now come to realize that Call the Bloodline, is indeed to slow. So I'm also swapping it out for my own deck.

I don't see your vamp deck on your page, can you link it?

April 28, 2016 12:54 p.m.

_Delta_ says... #23

Here it is, unfortunately this only is the 'ideal' vampire deck I'm likely making although I'm still doing some little changes to it, and I still have to acquire 2 more Olivia, Mobilized for War and a few of the other cards listed in the right amounts.
