Ultra budget, ultra competetive legacy deck. Can win anywhere between 4th and 6th turn regularly. All for under $100.
The deck has changed a bit, description still mostly fits though. Will change it later.
My variant of RDW works a bit differently than most. For starters, this deck revolves mostly around giving your opponents creatures. Sounds weird, right? Just burn them away, and have Repercussion do the rest.
It still has a few cheap creatures, not many though. The War-Riders are better than they first appear. Sure, they give your opponents a buttload of 1/1s, but a 3/4 trample for is amazing. Especially considering your opponent could block with an infinite amount of 1/1 survivors and it wouldn't make a difference thanks to rampage 1. The Hunted Dragon doesn't quite fit the cheap creatures theme, but a good beatstick is never a bad thing. The three 2/2s it brings out should be more of a blessing by the time you get this guy out thanks to an
AEther Flash
with Repercussion and/or
Dingus Staff
If your opponent kills any key pieces of the AEther Flash
+
Repercussion
+
Varchild's War-Riders
with optional
Dingus Staff
combo, there's enough burn in the deck to easily take out a few players when combined with whichever pieces of the combo remain.
Low creature count means not much chance of
AEther Flash
dealing a lot of damage to you while you burn away any threats. Forbidden Orchard and Acorn Catapult means you'll always have a way to sneak a creature onto an opponents battlefield.
Dingus Staff
and Repercussion really add to the pain when you start burning away all the little creatures with the large amount of mass burn spells. Burnished Hart for the obvious ramp and double triggers for Valakut, the Molten Pinnacle.
After several play tests of this deck, I've noticed that people hate this deck. It's not very nice. It dominates 1v1, multiplayer, and 2HG. I'm not saying this deck is undefeatable, I'm sure it's far from it, but it hasn't lost any of the several games in several different match ups I've played.
Games tend to go something like this;
Turn 1: Land drop, I drop Valakut, the Molten Pinnacle If I can. Otherwise, Mountain.
Turn 2: Land drop, Forbidden Orchard.
Varchild's War-Riders
. Opponent gets a 1/1 from Forbidden Orchard.
Turn 3: Opponent gets another 1/1 from
Varchild's War-Riders
. Land drop, another Forbidden Orchard. Repercussion, giving the opponent 2 more 1/1s.
Turn 4: Oppenent gets another two 1/1s from
Varchild's War-Riders
. Land drop Mountain. Play Earthquake for , giving the opponent two more 1/1s. Earthquake deals 3 damage to 7 of your opponents creatures, dealing 24 damage total to your opponent.
