Extort for the win.

This is the deck that I run. Going cheap with the guildmage-exquisite blood loop. If that gets removed, extort backs everything up.

Creatures are set to be spun around 1 or 2 drops to rack up the extort faster. Pontiff and Teysa backs up the late game for extra added fun.

Spot removals and board wipes are there to protect The Vatican. LOL.

Notable combos are Tithe Drinker + Ethereal Armor for obvious reasons. Liliana's Emblem + Debt of the Deathless gives it a WTF moment.

Standardizing — Sept. 23, 2013

As of late, I've made the deck legal for standard. I removed my tainted sigils, Defang, Exquisite Blood (which automatically removes the Vizkopa Guildmage )':). The deck focuses now on extorting with easy-fast-drop-crowd-controls. I've ramped up the number of Doom Blade and added Wring Flesh for aggro decks (specifically Gruul-based decks). Pacifism, Sphere of Safety, and Blind Obedience, holds down blitzes and the like. Pay No Heed give it a more spicy take when things get out of hand.

I've ran this setup with a Gruul-based Aggro deck and it fared well, winning 6 to 3. The plan was to hold everything down and control movements with Doom Blade, Wring Flesh, Profit / Loss, Pacifism, Sphere of Safety, Blind Obedience, and Pay No Heed while dishing out damage and lifegains with maximum extortion.
