It's really fun, Dredge4life!

I'm enjoying playing it, it has character while still being effective.

Thanks for the +1

looking at AEther Vial ( a fortune, I know, and out of reach), Sadistic Hypnotist , and Reprocess as options too. my deck still hasnt come complete, so cant wait to play it..

AEther Vial would be amazing in this deck, T3 free Rats is nice, carpenterrn. A little more than I'm willing to pay for one card though.

The other two sound okay, since the draw power is a little low, but what would you take out?

I have found that Underworld Connections and Skullclamp and Disciple of Bolas give a lot of draw already.

was looking at taking out underworld connections. For Sadistic Hypnotist was thinking I could essentially make everyone play with no cards in hand, which mitigates board wipe possibilities.... maybe a land for the other one?

Sadistic Hypnotist discards at Sorcery speed, limiting his usefulness in EDH to me. carpenterrn (Since top-decking becomes common, and he's not worth tutoring for early game with that high cost.)

Underworld connections gives you the option to draw more when you want, or leave it alone.

Is this budgeted? Otherwise, I would run Demonic Tutor. I like the idea, and I really like the basically infinite combo with Thornbite Staff!

It's not on a super tight budget, Turn8ScornfulEgotist, but I removed Demonic Tutor for the more game-changing (though much later game) Diabolic Revelation.

I've been happy with the choice, as the lets me grab multiple parts to a combo. (which this deck runs a few of)

Thanks for the feedback!

I love Diabolic Revelation, but Demonic Tutor is strictly better than Diabolic Tutor. That would be my switch.

That's true, Turn8ScornfulEgotist...
I should probably include that in my next order...

How about Profane Command instead of Death Denied? Instant speed is fine, but versatility is better. Also, you may want to switch out regular Swamps for Snow-Covered Swamps and add in Extraplanar Lens, if it's in the budget that is.

Death Denied has a specific role here, not many other cards could return 7 Relentless Rats to my hand, SirFowler.

I was running Extraplanar Lens, still own the expensive little thing, but artifact hate is strong in my meta. Losing an artifact, bad enough, losing an artifact AND the exiled land?
Backfire.

Curious though, why snow-covered swamps?

libraryjoy says... #13

Because if you exile a swamp with the lens, anyone else playing swamps also gets the benefit. Anyone not playing the lens will be unlikely to run a bunch of snow-covered lands, so the lens only benefits you. Unless they have a Snow Deck in EDH. Which I would absolutely love to see!

Panzerforge says... #14

That... Actually sounds like fun to make, libraryjoy.

I'll look into it.

Haha... I've been scrolling through the site to see if anyone already had. Here's what I found:

Let it Snow

Snow Faeries - with an unofficial commander

Along with a couple others that use snow as a sub-theme....

Whoops. For some reason I thought the command returned x creatures to hand. My bad.

Anyway, yeah, that's why I recommended the lens/snow lands. They can benefit you without benefitting your opponents, most of the time anyway.

Coat of Arms and AEther Vial seem like they might fit right in. Cool brew!

Toxic Deluge should DEFINITELY be in here. choosing the life right under your R.R.s power/toughness to board wipe most likely everything is perfect.

Immortal Servitude Seems better then Death Denied

I dig this though. Thrumming Stone is hilarious.

August 29, 2016 9:45 p.m.

Panzerforge says... #20

joecool1299, you're right, Immortal Servitude is much stronger in this case. Pay mana symbol 3mana symbol bmana symbol bmana symbol b and rush back in...

VesuvanDoppelbanger, Coat of Arms back fires hard when there are Soldier, Eldrazi, and Sliver players in your meta... I would like an AEther Vial, but I also like to pay rent.

Dreno33, why let dirty water from Toxic Deluge do the wipe when I can have Crypt Rats do the same, with bonus damage to my opponent as well?
I might try it versus Mutilate though.

Thanks everyone for your feedback!

Immortal Servitude can't be played in this deck, since that's a black and white card. Its a pitty but, I know.

I'd recomend Ratcatcher since he's a solid rat tutor.

August 30, 2016 6:59 a.m.

Panzerforge says... #22

Good catch, DarkRequiem.

However, the only really important rats I need are Marrow-Gnawer (don't need to tutor) and Relentless Rats (never had a problem of needing to tutor with 30 of them in the deck. More often I have TOO many in hand).

I'm running Demonic Tutor and Diabolic Revelation for tutoring other cards, if a situation calls for a special rat, I'll use those.

Thanks for reminding me of the color identity of dual mana though!

Saw this and had to build it, there's a guy in my group that loves playing Krenko and steamrolling people with goblins by turn 5, this'll give him a run for his money, thank you!

How do you find the balance between Mutilate and Toxic Deluge? Happy medium? What did you find to be better?
Love the deck! I've had a rat-tribal myself for a while and it makes my playgroup sweat!

Nice looking deck. +1. I also like the list of tutors you have here; all good budget cards.
