What is Centurion?

Commander Centurion is a variant of EDH Commander played 1v1 and with total life point severely reduced (right now is 25 life points). it has the same rules as EDH format with its own banned cards. What does this deck do?

This deck exploits to the limit combos achieved through magecraft and magecraft-like cards every time an instant or a sorcery is cast or copied. So the main focus of this deck is to draw as many cards as possible, ramp a little and slinging as many instants or sorceries as possible while magecraft permanents are on the battlefield in order to maximise the output.

A Centurion Challenge

Centurion format surely pulls every deck to the limits of ramping and achieving "inexorability" as fast as possible. "Rocks", duals, shocklands, fetches are staples to win the mana race.

• The nicest combo in the deck is a 4+ card combo with Veyran, Voice of Duality + Storm-Kiln Artist + Archmage Emeritus + Zada, Hedron Grinder or Mirrorwing Dragon + any instant or sorcery that targets Zada (I'm looking at you Expedite ): this combo grants at least 15 cards drawn + lots of treasure tokens the firs instant or sorcery you cast, allowing to potentially cast the entire Library in one turn.

• Dualcaster Mage + Twinflame or Dualcaster Mage + Heat Shimmer . It's enough to win the game most of the times. Impact Tremors is just the cherry on the cake.

• I've recently discovered another interesting combo involving Dualcaster Mage or Naru Meha, Master Wizard : just flash them after Ghostly Flicker targetting two permanents you control (at least one land for mana production) and you'll have infinite ETB with infinite mana of any color you decide to exile and ETB instantly for successive use. With all this mana (and all these instants copied) you can win in many ways: Impact Tremors for ETB creatures burn damage, Archmage Emeritus for drawing your entire Library, Veyran, Voice of Duality for just brutely one-shotting your opponent.

• Other useful combos are: Orvar, the All-Form + Storm-Kiln Artist as a base + Mystic Sanctuary for more blue lands or Archaeomancer for infinite one drop instant or sorcery recurtion.

Maybeboard Interactions

Birgi, God of Storytelling   + Grinning Ignus + Grapeshot or Brain Freeze can be viable wincons.

Grand Architect + Pili-Pala are a powerful and cheap infinite any color mana combo. Considering to bring it in in replace of birgi and another less usefull card.
