After playing a few copies of Preordain for a while (really like the card) - I really like the idea of Candy Trail as an Urza's Saga target. I've never been fond of Expedition Map because it just feels like an over-priced land most of the time, although I do put it back in once in a while.

Echoing Deeps and Sentinel of the Nameless City look like the main cards I’ll be play-testing from the new set so far.

Not sure if I need the graveyard copy land, but it’s ability to be an untapped mana source definitely makes it worth trying. The 3/4 that can grow itself makes me think of Tireless Tracker, so that’s definitely the one I am most excited about.

Both are worth testing, but I see the creature having more value in my iteration of the deck anyway, but not completely sure if either makes the cut.

So after some playtesting, I found the new set actually offered a lot of value to this archetype, and some of it from cards I didn't even consider initially.

Sunken Citadel adds some extra value, particularly alongside Castle Garenbrig. Spelunking is another card that adds some great value to the archetype. These all have some downsides to be weary of though, with that land being a tapped source, and Spelunking essentially turning off Amulet of Vigor. They all synergize well with each other, although they have some anti-synergy with some of the other cards in the deck. I'm still tweaking numbers for some of them in my "tuned-up" deck, but they definitely make some great budget options.

Sentinel of the Nameless City and Hulking Raptor are also some filler creature options. Once again, probably not the most ideal options, but definitely worthy of consideration.

Expect to see some updates to both this and the budget version of this deck shortly.

Post ban updates now that we won’t have to worry about Rakdos Scam as much.

I really need to go through and update the deck’s description (lots has changed since ban update) but really liking my new concept of Burning-Rune Demon + Persist tech to get Primeval Titan in hand with a threat on board. Might actually be better than the namesake card against removal, since we don’t need extra mana for Tolaria West shenanigans.

Still playing around with numbers, and I do sort of miss Elvish Reclaimer as well, going to keep playtesting before revamping the entire description.

New Tireless Tracker artwork I actually like, but it is up-shifted to mythic...

Kellan, inquisative prodigy Trostani, three whispers Branch of vitu-ghazi also look to be maybe promising. There's actually a surprising amount of interesting lands spoiled already.

I quit for like 3-4 years when Summer Bloom was banned, and the deck’s evolved quite a bit since then (was either Tooth and Nail or Glittering Wish in the flex slots at the very beginning).

But thank you for the support. I do try to bump it at least once a day if I remember, as the community definitely helped to shape the deck multiple times.

Having read through most of the deck descriptions I think this deck is op super competitive and I could run it with the notes here and a lottle practice. But what I commented to ask was what deck does this deck normally have trouble with and thoughts on Nahiri's Lithoforming for additional land drop and card draws

I actually need to go through and finish updating the deck description once I settle on the manabase. I came up with some new tech after discussing with some folks to avoid the need to play a traditional “finisher” like Kessig Wolf Run with 2 amulets and can instead get away with a more complicated line involving Echoing Deeps and eventually transmuting into Cultivator Colossus to then draw into one of the many ways to get dryad into play to then go face with valakut triggers.

I would say we struggle the most with Blood Moon effects and Grief being scammed, tearing apart our hands.

Honestly, otherwise the deck is usually favored slightly.

As far as nahiri’s, I’d prefer Scapeshift in most scenarios. It is a card I looked at though, especially due to synergy with Mirrorpool

Well, I ended up swapping Bonny Pall, Clearcutter main for Colossal Skyturtle side, it just answers a lot of problems that we couldn't answer otherwise, and isn't really that horrible as a threat with some protection as its absolute floor.

Bonny Pall, Clearcutter is super nice as an option in games with low amulets, but the double blue cost makes it hard to use in games vs red decks, which is a large percentage of the games we would want it for. That makes it mainly only for green decks, which we can just as easily race.

Amulet has remained tier 0 or 1 through metas with KCI, Hogaak, Eldrazi, Oko, Mox Opal, Treasure Cruise/Dig Through Time, Faithless looting/Golgari Grave Troll Dredge, Uro, Prowess, Lurrus/Yorion decks, and to this day. The deck is always the most broken thing in modern and just avoids bans by being hard to play.

Uh cool copy pasta?

And it is honestly the fact that it is one of the easiest to interact with decks, not the skillcap. We are vulnerable to artifact/enchantment removal, creature removal, land hate, and definitely to “counterspell” decks, mainly thanks to subtlety.

If you had a real point to your post, I’d be happy to discuss. When amulet gets “good” the meta shifts to cover it a bit, keeping it from being too good.

So Six (MH3) is definitely going in to replace Courser of Kruphix once it is legal provided that is a legitimate spoiler.

Disciple of Freyalise // Garden of Freyalise is also definitely going in, it's even better than Six is for the deck, MH3 is looking exciting now.

So as of right now, I am going to be doing these swaps with current spoilers:

Maindeck
+1 Disciple of Freyalise  Flip
+1 Urza's Cave
+1 Bojuka Bog
+1 Spelunking

-1 Courser of Kruphix
-1 Explore
-1 Golgari Rot Farm
-1 Arboreal Grazer

Sideboard
+1 Six
+1 Shifting Woodland

-1 Colossal Skyturtle
-1 Khalni Garden

I also really like the idea of having access to Vexing Bauble, so I will probably be trying to make room for that as well, at least to test out.

Run that, it's actually good

Cultivator Colossus is so insane in amulet I would definitely play 1 (I've seen some lists even playing 2)

May 24, 2024 1:45 p.m.

nbarry223 says... #21

That’s a card I actually don’t like in here. It is reliant on having lands in hand to do much, and is often win-more in most scenarios where it is good.

It’s also one of the most sided out cards if I were to run it as well, so not my favorite option for sure.

zapyourtumor says... #22

That does make some sense, but whenever I'm playing against titan it can be really annoying when you surgical a titan or something and they still have that colossus line

May 25, 2024 3:01 p.m.

nbarry223 says... #23

Yeah, I have Thragtusk, Six and Roxanne, Starfall Savant for my diverse threats against something like mill which runs Surgical Extraction. Cultivator Colossus also has no evasion or useful effects once it hits the field and is just a big dumb creature that can be chumped. Don't get me wrong, it is a decent card in the build, but it doesn't do enough for me to want to run it personally. Slots are super tight in the build, and are only getting tighter and tighter with all the cards we want to run now.

Also, I think I am now slotting in Springheart Nantuko as a 1-of to the main, since it can go infinite with basically every creature in the deck.

This is probably the best realistically good list you've posted so far
