@dallasisdj: I'm trying to fill out the playset of them myself.. spendy motherfucker they are. :/

Thanks for the +1 and the comment! Although, I think your +1 didn't register. :o

+1ed For sure. I just started playing and threw together a Vampire deck out of the deck building kits and miscellaneous single card purchases. It does well against my friends but far from anything too serious I feel. This deck of your has certainly given me some interesting insight. =)

Hi!

Why Dark Confidant ? I'd better put some fast creatures for more aggro, or Olivia Voldaren and Falkenrath Aristocrat .

Nice deck, seems to be very powerful.

And also as vamp lover +1.

Check my other vampire decks Sorin Super Puper and Vampiric Orzhov .

I know it was previously mentioned but you should use Tragic Slip with your creatures being sacked for scry you kill pretty much anything they have.

@87daggers: Thank you very much, and I hope you continue to win with your deck.. vampires rule. :)

@AncientVampire: Dark Confidant is a Modern staple for a reason, he helps me gain card advantage, while still having the ability to swing in for two damage, he's pretty amazing. :) I'll gladly take a look at your other decks when I get the time. :)

@Magiclover318: Yeah, I've been really considering Tragic Slip lately, It could help me deal with indestructible creatures should I ever run into them.. Thanks for the comment. :)

Sweet deck, especially the incredible low curve. I always used to play with the full set of Stromkirk Captain and Vampire Nocturnus , plus two Bloodline Keeper  Flip . But with the full set of Dark Confidant and the low CC, you will swarm the table in no time. What if the Confidant doesn't stick?

Would Cavern of Souls not be something for this deck? You might want to change the Terminate for Smother , to help smoothening the change in the mana base. And I can only concur with what has been said before Dreadbore and Hero's Downfall kick ass...

+1 from me

November 26, 2013 4:27 p.m.

@Dutchmen: Hey there! I originally had Cavern of Souls in here, but with the Instants and Sorceries in this deck that require solid color, it was a little bit of an annoyance. :/ I may try them out again since I've made some changes though.

I have been considering Smother but not over Terminate . Fixing color and having the right colors to cast Terminate has never been a problem for me. I also like how Terminate hits every creature, not just low CMC ones.

As for Dreadbore , I really don't like the Sorcery speed on it.. that can sometimes be very detrimental.. I will however reconsider it since in certain decks in Modern run Planeswalkers.

The only reason I wouldn't want to run Hero's Downfall is that CMC of 3 could be better used to cast a creature.. 3 mana is a lot for this deck. With 3 mana I could lay down a Stromkirk Noble , equip a Blade of the Bloodchief and Flame Slash or Lightning Bolt a creature. I'm not too sold on a 3 CMC bit of removal for this deck.

Thank you for your suggestions and the time you took to look at my deck, It's always appreciated. :)

Your deck looks very good and fun to play...

A little suggestion that maybe you should test:+2 Gatekeeper of Malakir -2 Flame Slash

You get a non-target removal and a vampire in play. The downside is the triple black mana cost.

Also-3 Devour Flesh +3 Geth's Verdict

Downside, double black mana cost. But that can be solved by fixing the mana base.

I would say if you changed your land base around a bit you could play Tainted Peak probably need Blood Crypt to go along with them tho for more swamp action

January 4, 2014 9:38 p.m.

@Void95: Sorry for the delayed reply, I will check it out as soon as I have time!

@Felixlives: Thank you for your kind words and +1. I opt out of Tainted Peak because that's just one more thing I couldn't fetch with Arid Mesa and Verdant Catacombs . I will also take a look at your deck when I have more free time!@Known: Thank you very much, that made me smile! I have considered Gatekeeper of Malakir for awhile now and I go back an forth for that very reason.. I love Flame Slash and it does lethal damage to just about any threat in Modern, so I think I will keep it since it has done me wonders.. but what I may try is dropping the 2 Markov Blademaster s for 2 Gatekeeper of Malakir s.

And as far as Devour Flesh vs. Geth's Verdict .. I will highly consider that, Devour Flesh is mainly in the SB for dealing with Geist of Saint Traft and Infect creatures which have low Toughness, so the tradeoff for a slightly easier to cast spell to me is worth keeping. Thank you for your input and I will begin tinkering with my deck accordingly!

How can you have a vampire deck without Vampire Nocturnus? LOL Great deck

March 8, 2014 2:26 p.m.

Is the Verdant Catacombs really necessary? I love this deck, hate the price.

+1! your deck seems very robust, and your vampire cards knowledge is impressive. I wish I could afford fetchlands and bobs...

My suggestions are nothing new from other comments: Geth's Verdict , Ultimate Price , and for SB Pithing Needle and Vandalblast . I agree Dreadbore works best as a SB replacement for Terminate .

I'd love to hear your comments on my vampire deck The Stress of Their Regard - Fast vampire deck.

Word. And thank you!

December 18, 2014 1:32 a.m.

I like it, feel like bloodghast is a gear and should be a 4x and confidant 3x 3 is plenty. Can you still win if you dont open with confidant..yes. You can get so much scry with vicera I feel sign in blood might be good 2x with like 2x thoughtseize instead of confidant. What do you think of that idea for a more budget friendly version? +1

December 18, 2014 1:44 a.m.

I feel like flame slash is almost always going to be worse than bolt. I'd drop those to max gatekeeper (best vampire in the game). Since you're sing the sacrifice engine anyway, have you considered Falkenrath Aristocrat? A lot of your creatures I feel would be more optimal as four-ofs (bloodghast, seer) and a deck like this outright needs Kalastria Highborn. There are a number of adjustments you could make if you really wanted to minmax this.

I like the build a lot man I love vamps. +1! Be sure to check out my deck for modern lingering resurgence. Thanks!

March 22, 2015 1:42 a.m.

I feel like a 4-mana finisher would be great instead of Viscera Seer. Maybe Falkenrath Aristocrat or Olivia Voldaren? They arent the best of choices, but i think that this deck will seriously lack late game power if too many creatures get removed.
