Sideboard

Alright so this deck is designed to shut down opponents. Right now Mardu Vehicles, B/G (Energy, Constrictor, Delirium), and Jeskai are looking to be the top decks. I put this together with those decks in mind as well as a B/W Planeswalker control deck that a few people in my FMN play. The idea is simple, hardcore denial of everything they want to do.

For your faster decks (mardu) Engulf the Shore eats them alive. I like to wait until they crew their Heart of Kiran to spring it so as to send that back as well. In addition, Horribly Awry does well in this match-up and Void Shatter their Scrapheap Scrounger and they do not come back to drive you nuts. Overall, Mardu Vehicles has a hard time keeping creatures on the field against this. (Note: game 2 sideboard out the Fevered Visions against this match-up in favor of Baral, Chief of Compliance, Select for Inspection and Aether Meltdown are also useful here.)

In the B/G match-ups, Horribly Awry can go horribly wrong here so I prefer to use Select for Inspection in this match-up. If you can keep the Winding Constrictor and Verdurous Gearhulk off the board you generally do well in this match-up. Engulf the Shore also works well in this match if you can keep ahead in the land vs. counter battle. (Note: Essence Flux is a good sideboard for this match-up as it lets you bounce your Torrential Gearhulk to use your instants again for just a single mana.)

Against Jeskai or any other control you have an advantage with 25 different instants. The easiest way to win this match-up is to work the Mechanized Production angle with clues and Trail of Evidence while protecting them from any artifact or enchantment removal. You can easily keep planeswalkers off the board with Negate, but if they do hit the board Compelling Deterrence is a handy way to get them off the board so you may counter them if played again. In this match-up Fevered Visions goes a long way to help, both with card draw and damage.

In the end this deck is very versatile and works against all three of the top decks right now. I would love to hear any suggestions you may have. Please if you suggest something also suggest what you would take out.

If you like the deck give it an up-vote! +1
