I see it's amonkhet only, but Noose Constrictor and Archfiend of Ifnir are nuts with hapatra.

I agree for Archfiend of Ifnir but there's no cards with cycle in this deck.

That's why i suggested noose.

Oh right, but I plan on doing a block constructed so unfortunately...

Yeah, I plan on making a -1/-1 deck as well. Initially, I had thought to play 3 colors with a splash in red. There are a lot of better discard/cycle worthy cards in red as well as extra creature hate to finish off enemies that already have -1/-1's. You also don't need to invest too much because you can run 2 sets of the cycle dual color lands and justify the use of Archfiend of Ifnir.

But I started second guessing myself. If the theme is -1/-1, I think sticking with it is more consistent than trying to run a cycling engine as well. Archfiend of Ifnir though... what a card.

As for suggestions, have you looked at Exemplar of Strength or Grasping Dunes?

I like Channeler Initiate over Exemplar of Strength, mana seems more interesting but depending on how the deck fares they should be interchangeable. As for Grasping Dunes it seems a good idea but again, I might add that if I feel I got too much Forest or Swamp.

Maybe look at nest of scarabs?

I think Champion of Rhonas, Vizier of the Menagerie, can be changed for better stuff with more synergy, like the nest of scarabs, Festering Mummy (budget), dread wanderer as a early aggro and target of your creatures -1/-1 counters (he come back)

I had Nest of Scarabs earlier but I removed it because I didn't know what the 1/1 token would be worth for.

It would make it so that you can put multiple counters on a creature and get that many 1/1 bugs instead of just one 1/1.

Cartouche of Ambition same cost as green cartouche and puts -1/-1 counter on target creature. I would also sideboard Trial of Ambition as well, for creature heavy matches. The ability to play and bounce back to your hand is nice. I am working on a JUND deck similar since the Cartouche of Zeal is only to cast I can get the trials back quicker. Soul-Scar Mage gives ability to turn any non combat damage into -1/-1 counters.

I didn't work a lot on the sideboard but yeah, I'll take the advice. Though I don't play against heavy creature-heavy decks.

thinking more removal. maybe black trial over the green trial? Stinging shot might need replaced also but I can't think of another card for it that is just in AKH, but fatal push comes to mind if you are flexible about that issue. +1'ed

I have a similar build, Negative Creep... I was using Shed Weakness but switched out for Larger Than Life... I cut all of my high-CMC creatures and focused more on small but fast creatures. I like Decimator Beetle and Honored Hydra quite a bit, but in my meta I'm running into artifact-laden decks, like Marvel and Vehicles, so I opted for creatures and spells that help me deal with that. I started running Festering Mummy x4 for speed and -1/-1 synergy, especially with both Hapatra, Vizier of Poisons and Nest of Scarabs on the board at the same time... you can even counter-kill your own mummy and get two snakes and two insects in return.I like your build, and am curious how the big creatures hold up in your meta.

What about Splendid Agony? Instant speed -1/-1s seem good
