This deck is a slow deck that utilizes life gain (mainly in Extort) and Vizkopa Guildmage's second ability. I thought Thespian's Stage could be an interesting addition because you never know when you need an extra black mana... or an opponent's land. I thought Purge the Profane was a bit pricey for this deck, so it's in the Maybeboard. Zarichi Tiger adds that life gain this deck needs to hang on (and to deal damage with Vizkopa's second ability), but Zarichi is also a bit pricey. If you have enough mana, I believe that Vizkopa's ability stacks (e.g. you gain 2 life, your opponent loses 4 life!). This, if used with extort (opponent loses 1 life from extort, you gain 1 life from extort, your opponent loses 1 life from Vizkopa twice= total 3 damage) your opponent will see their life slowly slip away...
