I haven't played a lot of EDH, but would like to.

we used to do it every other sunday at realms but we couldnt get a good turn out so they tried a weeknight. as far as i know it didnt turn out as well as we had hoped.

Cyclonic Rift is great for creature based agro. Who doesn't love one-sided field sweeps? Also awesome is Shamanic Revelation, for great life gain and card draw!

Also well loved in greenXX colors is Cultivate and Kodama's Reach, for deck thinning, ramp, and mana-fixing all in one.

Also, Draining Whelk is pretty incredible when it costs 4 less to cast. Counterspell, and then get a flying big creature? Awesome.

Rift and the ramp spells I totally neglected! May have to make some changes. Although, I do have a lot of creature ramp to make up for it... Hmm.

with that commander, you should be running NO non-permanents except for Primal Surge. aside from that you really should be running more eldrazi. and x-costs.

There are sooo many board wipes in my playgroup it's unreal. Plus lots of other shenanigans. I have to run a few counters to keep my board state up.

I hadn't thought of Hydras, though. Good suggestion!

thats why you use Teferi, Mage of Zhalfir, Craterhoof Behemoth, and a haste card so you win immediatly.

As a work in progress, I have the pieces you see in the deck, however it's untested. I'd like to see how it performs a few times, as I'll def make some changes afterwards.

personally, I hate it. Yes its good feedback, but This is, personally, one of my least favorite decks to run against. It improves the deck so much, and I dont like decks that are too good. They just win, but thats it. still, glad it helped!

Haha, thanks! I like a few combos every now and again, and def have a Spike playstyle, but I like to keep it fun as well. That being said, I'm not as willing to drop cash or trade for high dollar EDH cards. I could do ~$5 ish, but as a low priority. My focus with trading and singles lies within my competitive Modern and Legacy decks. With EDH, I'm still competitive, but less so due to the environment of my playgroup. It's a bit slower in terms of gameplay, zero combo decks, etc.

I would like to include Cloudstone Curio though. A few combos makes stuff interesting :-)

hmmmm.... I'm not sure what to do with the cloudstone, but I have lots of ideas for vella decks, and I could see lots of infinite with that, so If you want a vella deck, just say the word.

Well, with Animar at a few counters he can make colorless critters next to free, or free indeed. He reduces CMC, so even colored critters are cheaper. With Cloudstone Curio, I can abuse the shiznit out of colorless critters with "when cast" (Eldrazi) or ETB effects, and makes Morph critters free... Lots of shenanigans with Curio.

true! so true. I'd replace it with Zameck Guildmage. as for other cards on your maybe board, I'd suggest taking out Gyre Sage (not good enough), Embodiment of Spring replace him with an Explosive Vegetation. fo reals. Ohran Viper not very good. Viridian Emissary its just a worse Rampant Growth. Vorel of the Hull Clade you really dont need his help, you can get far enough with your own creatures anyhow. Mystic Genesis is it really worth 5 mana? why not just use Counterlash if you want something so bad, maybe a Commandeer. Sword of Feast and Famine and Strionic Resonator: there are better slots for cards with the same mana cost. also, a Sphinx of Uthuun and Fact or Fiction would serve you well.

@DERPLINGSUPREME you have some great suggestions and points! I'll make a few changes based on that. I do like the SoF&F and Resonator for the lolz.

Because of Birthing Pod, I need to look at other 3 drops. Eternal Witness, Mwonvuli Beast Tracker, and Fierce Empath perhaps? I plan on adding Sakura-Tribe Elder in Viridian Emissary's spot.

And why don't you think Gyre Sage is good here? With all the big beasties ETB, I can see her producing buttloads of mana and getting huge...

I said it wasnt good enough, and I personally thin that there are better cards for the slot, but..... IDK what I was saying.

Ooohhh! Didn't know that card existed! I do have Birthing Pod, Green Sun's Zenith, Worldly Tutor, Chord of Calling, Momir Vig, Simic Visionary, Fierce Empath, and Fauna Shaman. I shall take that into consideration though, good sir!

I like Blightsteel Colossus, Darksteel Colossus, and It That Betrays in Animar EDH. I see you have Blightsteel in the maybe board but thought I'd list him as an encouragement to run it.

I know that the mana myr aren't the best ramp especially in groups that have a lot of sweepers, but in Animar they can be free and add counters for added ramp. Scuttlemutt falls into the same category and should be considered too.
