Eternity Vessel ? I think it could be fun.

@Kirtanian: Yep, it's in there. And yes, it shapes up to be pretty nuts if I can get it online with the fish-man on the field :)

Rings of Brighthearth might be a better pick than Illusionist's Bracers . I know the Bracers get activated for "free" once equipped, but the Rings can interact with a number of other cards in a pretty awesome way. Think Magistrate's Scepter or Simic Manipulator .

Forgotten Ancient will grow pretty quick in a multiplayer game as well. Also, since he can place his counters on opponent's creatures he would synergize well with Experiment Kraj and Cytoplast Manipulator , which are also good alongside the Rings.

What's your interaction with Ulvenwald Tracker and Mutant's Prey ? If it's as spot removal, Beast Within might be a better choice than Mutant's Prey, and while Ulvenwald tracker as Removal on a stick works well, it might benefit from cards like Protean Hydra where taking the damage will increase it's counters.

My only other suggestions might be Seedborn Muse , Murkfiend Liege or Quest for Renewal . Seedborn Muse is the hyper version of it untapping your lands, but the other two at least allow for additional Vorel effects.

Otherwise, great deck :D! Definitely looking to build something similar to this

How has Titan Forge done for you? I tried it in my Vorel deck and ended up pulling it because I found it to be too mana intensive, even with the generals ability.

@guerillarage: Come to think of it, the Forge is kind of lackluster. It does tie up my mana a bit for my liking. Any suggestions as to what to replace it with?

Another land I would say. You mentioned that you were having mana issues. You seem to have plenty of acceleration. Also, I think you could pull either Kodama's Reach or Cultivate and replace with Fertilid . It's super awesome with Vorel.

Parallax Tide and Tangle Wire would go great with Vorel, the first winning the game with him, the second locking down everyone including yourself for shenanigans.

Thanks for the suggestions, but I don't want this to become a slow-roll lockdown deck. I already run a stax-like Bruna deck, so I'd like to still have a playgroup to play this with, if you catch my drift.

Have you tried Oran-Rief, the Vastwood ?

Scute Mob also seems good here.

Might I suggest a few lands that take advantage of Vorel's effect? The most obvious are Rushwood Grove and Saprazzan Cove , as well as their slightly-more-antiquated ancestors Hollow Trees and Sand Silos . Hickory Woodlot and Saprazzan Skerry can also be exciting, given enough juice. But my personal favorite land for this purpose would be City of Shadows . You would probably also enjoy Novijen, Heart of Progress .

oops, missed the comment before mine. well, I lose some originality points, but there are still some more cards there that I hope work for you.

Oracle of Mul Daya always helps me with my land problems. Especially with the draw this deck is capable of.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone! I'm considering the storage lands instead of the mana batteries. They're less mana intensive and with Vorel's doubling ability, they can get bonkers quickly.

Cuts:

I would definitely cut Amulet of Vigor . You don't have many things that it helps. If you need more untapped lands, there are better options.

I'm confused by Laboratory Maniac . Is there a particular reason you're including him? If you're looking for a secondary win-con, I'd recommend Darksteel Reactor .

Craterhoof Behemoth seems out of place.

I think Crowned Ceratok is weak. If you want trample, I'd go for Ring of Kalonia instead.

Lorescale Coatl can get big, but that's all it does. You have plenty of things to inflate, so I don't think it makes the cut.

Ulvenwald Tracker is slow and unreliable. Generally the real threats (non-creatures, Eldrazi, Avacyn, Angel of Hope , etc.) won't be taken down by "fighting". Mutant's Prey is even worse. Countermagic, for example, would be much more effective. (i.e. Hinder , Spell Crumple , Desertion , etc.)

Bioshift isn't particularly impressive, in my opinion.

Ivy Lane Denizen , Blessings of Nature , Increasing Savagery , Decree of Savagery , Jace Beleren , and Snapcaster Mage are all debatable.

Adds:

For untapping, Seedborn Muse is insane in this kind of deck, as well as Murkfiend Liege to a lesser extent.

I would highly recommend adding Minamo, School at Water's Edge for additional activations, as well as Alchemist's Refuge and possibly Winding Canyons for flash shenanigans. (Combined with Seedborn Muse, you can play stuff each turn.)

Other cards that can get crazy with proliferate/counter doubling are Saproling Burst , Eternity Vessel , and Magistrate's Scepter .

Tamiyo, the Moon Sage , Jace, Architect of Thought , and Garruk, Primal Hunter are all good Planeswalker additions, each of which can ultimate the turn they are played if you have Doubling Season or Vorel of the Hull Clade + Liquimetal Coating .

Some more mana possibilities are Pentad Prism , and Coalition Relic .

Some generally good commander Green/Blue cards are: Progenitor Mimic and Trygon Predator .

@EnderA: Thanks for all the feedback. I appreciate you taking the time to make all these suggestions. I want to address some of your proposed cuts, for discussion's sake.

First, Laboratory Maniac . He's not an alternate win, but rather a defense against accidentally losing. I have ways of drawing out my deck, and I don't want to lose that way, so in goes the Maniac.

The Crowned Ceratok works because he gives all my dudes with counters trample, without having to sink mana into casting the ring, equipping it, and moving it around.

I agree with the rest of your cuts. I've been on the fence about Fight Bear for a while. He's only in for the interaction with Predator Ooze .

Some of the cards you suggested I actually had in there for a while, like Eternity Vessel and Magistrate's Scepter . I took the Vessel out because of two words: Vampire Hexmage . My playgroup is black heavy, and it's a matter of time before they got wise to my shenanigans and tossed the Vamp in.

But overall, solid suggestions. Thanks very much!

Yeah, no problem!

Good point about Eternity Vessel . Fortunately, it doesn't force you to set your life upon landfall, but getting rid of the counters would disable the card. The most brutal anti-counter card is AEther Snap . It can single-handedly wipe the board - especially ruining a Ghave, Guru of Spores or The Mimeoplasm deck - and can even combo beneficially with Dark Depths (surprise! 20/20 indestructible flying) and persist/undying creatures. Three other good anti-counter cards are Hex Parasite , Thrull Parasite , and Ferropede .

A good consideration for this deck would be Magistrate's Scepter as it allows you to take extra turns quite easily with your commander.

I definitely have to disagree with EnderA as Bioshift had either saved me or won me the game on so many occasions. 50/50 Scute Mob on the field and just played an Elusive Krasis . Next turn sing with a 0/4 unblockable then Bioshift 49 counters over for game? To me its extremely helpful
