I went 1-4 last night with this deck, I switched up the sideboard a little bit but that wasn't the problem. I figured out that I need more removal in my area so the Simic Charms were incredibly important as well as Syncopate. I even took at a Kalonian Hydra with Bioshift.
But overall I wasn't hitting my mana, and if not that I wasn't hitting my creatures. I'm going to have to test this deck out a little more to figure out what to do with it. When I did get my mana and creatures I had fantastic games.
Round 1 vs Esper Control
0-2 he destroyed me the first game after he used Detention Sphere on 3 of my Cloudfin Raptor and then even after I took that out he Thoughtseized my answer. The second game I couldn't get the mana I needed and he ripped me apart with AEtherling
Round 2 vs Heroic White Weenie
2-1 Game 1 she got only blue mana and I just rolled over here with my 2 Crowned Ceratok of all things. Game 2 she went nuts with heroic triggers on Phalanx Leader and Hidden Strings and beat me. Game 3 I used Bioshift to move here counters around and take her down with Experiment One and Master Biomancer
Round 3 vs Golgari Whip Reanimator
0-2 Game 1 was going decent for me, I had the right creatures but he put the gift of orzhava on a Reaper of the Wilds and I didn't have the removal, or the fliers, to escape the 4-turn clock, I screwed up- not using my Simic Charm to remove the reaper when he didn't have the mana to make it hexproof.. Game 2 was similar, him with a Whip of Erebos and me note being able to keep up with his lifegain. We played a 3rd game in which I got all my mana together and rolled over him quite nicely with a few big creatures.
Round 4 vs Simic Counters (slightly mirror)
1-2 Game 1 was a very even match until I got out the Bident of Thassa and a Master Biomancer. I used the bidents ability to make his creatures attack into my bigger creatures, killled all his then wiped the floor. At that time we both had a Prophet of Kruphix. Second game I got mana screwed and he rolled over me. Game 3 was intense, we both ramped up really well me to Garruk, Caller of Beasts and him to Polukranos, World Eater unfortunately for me he used Aqueous Form on Polukranos and killed my Garruk but not after I filled my hand with Master Biomancer I ended up with 3 of them which were boosting up themselves well but I ran out of creatures and he had a Kalonion Hydra with Vorel of the Hull Clade and after I put the hydra back in his hand a couple times he was finally able to swing at me for first 36 which I could survive but then I was out of removal and he came after me swinging for 128 trample damage.
Game 5 vs Devo-Green Ramp
0-2 He wiped me out both games with quick ramp to Arbor Colossus with a ton of mana dorks and ended up having a monstrous Colossus of Akros swinging at me when I had 0 blockers. Dead.
So I figured out after side boarding out my Crowned Ceratok and Bred for the Hunt that that eliminates a lot of my card draw and with my lack of creatures in hand in such a creature heavy deck that they need to be in there.
