Well, 2 of the keyrunes could replace 1 land, so 17 lands would be plenty I would think.

It really depends on what we get passed, Hopefully, some of our picks will be gates that will help our colorfix more, and we would trade out some of our spells for better replacements if we got them. I think we have plenty of combat tricks/noncreature spells personally, so I'd prioritize gates and creatures.

So Teysa it is?

sewellius says... #3

I think the only votes cast have all been for Teysa.

July 20, 2013 6:50 p.m.

IAmKingTony says... #4

we'll have to see but right now we have more blue cards than green cards, and we definitely want to be playing green....

Deco_y says... #5

Teysa wins!

Next pack in 5 hours 46 minutes.

Deco_y says... #6

Hmmm Guildgate? Right in the colors we need.

July 21, 2013 3:15 a.m.

Nemesis says... #7

yup yup, guildgate all the way.

July 21, 2013 3:30 a.m.

Mpz5 says... #8

Yea, Simic Guildgate looks like our pick.

+1 Simic Guildgate

I wouldn't mind the opal, the Rakdos Drake, or the Kraul Warrior, but we will still get a chance at those cards. Most people are trying to color fix at this point and the gate will not cycle back, I'm pretty sure. The others might.

July 21, 2013 3:34 a.m.

Rkynick says... #9

Yeah, none of the cards here are more important than the guildgate. A very red pack, so naturally not much we can take.

Even if we don't get more gatekeepers we still need gates for fixing. The gates are useful without the keepers, but the keepers aren't useful without the gates, hence we should take the gate first.

July 21, 2013 3:43 a.m.

IAmKingTony says... #10

not taking the removal is difficult but our plan has sent us this way

+1 Simic Guildgate

July 21, 2013 4:33 a.m.

NeoHazard says... #11

Yeah I'd say the choices are the guildgate or the gatekeeper. We were all mostly saying we needed more gates and this one is in our colours. I say go with the Gate

July 21, 2013 12:33 p.m.

sewellius says... #12

+1 Simic Guildgate

Yep, I agree, not a lot in this pack that's important enough to take over the gate, especially since this is one of the most needed gates for us.

July 21, 2013 1:30 p.m.

Hey guys, I'm back.

Wow, looks like we got some great picks. Oh boy, did we get our bomb or what? Teysa, Envoy of Ghosts !? Hell yes.

+1 Simic Guildgate

Nice pick overall. A Guildgate right in our colors. That brings us to six Guildgates, two more, and we'll be gold.

July 21, 2013 5:18 p.m.

IAmKingTony says... #14

gates are going to be rare I think, everyone else is probably scrambling for fixing

July 21, 2013 5:25 p.m.

IAmKingTony says... #15

Guildgate wins.

Next pack in 3 hours.

July 21, 2013 11:57 p.m.

IAmKingTony says... #17

actually with our strategy I hope we get more blue cards actually, but enough to switch our focus to Esper with a green splash

Haunter of Nightveil , another Deputy of Acquittals and Murmuring Phantasm , a Hired Torturer or two, maybe a Wind Drake

we can switch green to our lite splash colour, for the Gatekeeper, Moa, and Courage and I'd be cool with that

July 22, 2013 2:49 a.m.

Deco_y says... #18

If we can nab a Torturer or two, I'd really like that. And some fliers. And some more gate(keeper)s.

Man, moar everything.

Deco_y says... #19

Updateeeeee

July 22, 2013 3:10 a.m.

IAmKingTony says... #20

actually I'm okay with our current amount of Gatekeepers, they'd probably end up in the sideboard if we got more of them... in fact in my final optimal list I moved 1 of our green gatekeepers to the sideboard

what we want is 2 or if possible 3 more Deputy of Acquittals

July 22, 2013 3:11 a.m.

IAmKingTony says... #21

+1 Haunter of Nightveil ALL DAY

I know the Torturer is tempting and it's my second pick here but Haunter was my #1 wanted uncommon that we could have seen, wow

we'll see another Torturer but we need to get this thing right here right now

July 22, 2013 3:13 a.m.

IAmKingTony says... #22

I really get the feeling you guys are going to take that gate though and I don't blame you, a Golgari Gate was on my wanted final version of our deck but the Haunter is just too perfect for us to pass up.

July 22, 2013 3:16 a.m.

Rkynick says... #23

Obzedat's Aid, perhaps? At worst, it brings back a gatekeeper and re-activates its effect. At best, it brings back Teysa, Envoy of Ghosts.

Otherwise, there's a Hired Torturer and a solid Guildgate. Haunter of Nightvale is interesting but I'm not sure how good it really is. Protect//Serve falls into the same category.

July 22, 2013 3:18 a.m.

IAmKingTony says... #24

the -1/-0 from the Haunter will be crushing against our wall of big toughness guys, plus it will link up with our Abomination

July 22, 2013 3:21 a.m.

NeoHazard says... #25

Kinda funny last comments on the last pack were about three or so different cards and guess what pops up. I was personally thinking about the Guildgate, another couldnt hurt and this one is in our colours. I like the Hired Torturer but I have never seen the Haunter of Nightveil in a draft, either playing it or playing against it. It seems like it would be good in the early game but by the time he drops it seems like his ability will be a non-issue anyways, ie most creatures are bigger then 1/x or 2/x, where I see most of his use at. IAmKingTony have you drafted it before? How does he work in a draft format?
