Hey gatotempo, sorry for the late reply, I was doing a lot of number-crunching for the deck. I really like the Pyromancer, but I'm afraid of how diluted the deck will get if I allow for 3-and-below creature drops. I'm going to look into replacements for Cathartic Reunion still, however--but so far I like how deep it digs for the mana cost. Haven't found an equal, but that doesn't mean there isn't one. Thanks for commenting!

Haha! wideline1414 I think I'd rather spend $30 on a Wooded Foothills or something like that, but I'll try to get my hands on a Blightsteel ASAP

If you need some fatty ideas, I have a mayael deck that would maybe give some suggestions

Hmm that sounded sarcastic I suppose. wideline1414 I really do feel like you could post your deck link here if you wanted to, no reason not to. People would already by on my page, not like you'd be taking any of my upvotes or views or anything. Go for it

No worries dude! I will cycle and let it roll! Everyone likes atla better and I may run her if I didn’t run Teysa sacrifice. Thanks for the comments on my mayael deck!

Very Nice list, I've always though an Egg build would be a lot of fun. Thornbite Staff is a great include as it can chain you multiple egg triggers plus she's a shaman. Irregular Cohort will give you 2 eggs also look into other changlings. I would cut some of your non creature permeants, you don't really need bag of holding since your Commander is pseudo card draw, I would also cut the Sentinel totem, Cathartic reunion, pyroblast, once and future just because all these cards while fine cards are relatively weak in EDH. You honestly I think just need more creatures in general, Quartzwood Crasher, Sakura-Tribe Elder, Ghalta, Primal Hunger, Zetalpa, Primal Dawn, Mirror Entity, Taurean Mauler, Sun Titan, and Regisaur Alpha would all be relatively cheap upgrades.

Hey, thanks for stopping by! Out of your suggestions, the one I’m thinking about the most is Quartzwood Crasher

Cool deck,
Cheating creatures on the board is easily my favorite mechanic. To make up for the deck's weakness, that is being commander-dependant, I would include Lurking Predators as a fall back strategy. It would greatly benefit from your topdeck-style tutors as well.
Cheers!

Heliogabale appreciate it! Lurking Predators is a hilarious card, and I would love to add it. The only problem is its CMC--but I'll look into taking out a big card to try and slot it in, it all comes down to how it'll do in my playtesting. Thanks!

Hello! you commented on my deck the other day, I really like Atla, she embodies my love for big and stompy. also thank you for sharing your deck, there's a few cards in here that I'm considering finding room for my Atla deck, namely Krosan Verge, need more land and always need more ramp. quick question, the deck you've listed here actually has a few duplicates, speaking of which Krosan Verge is actually one of them. both in land and in ramp, which actually is pretty sweet since once you boot them off the list and making two or more into one, you have extra room to fit more goodies! thanks!

Xenomorph36 so glad you found something that helped in my deck, I’m definitely a big advocate of cards that fit multiple categories. I believe I first read about the notion in a Suns_Champion article...

I saw a line that I was confused about: "Here's why: if we let our opponent untap, they can remove Atla in response to us sacking an egg (trust me, that's the worst feeling) and the time in the game when we want to be triggering our general..."
If you have sacrificed the egg, the Atla trigger will be on the stack, and even if they remove her, the trigger will still resolve. I mean, they could kill her in response to the Skullclamp equip being on the stack and that would stop that, but anything where you sacrifice as part of a cost will for sure still go through. (Unless they're all like Trickbind, but at that point you just congratulate them.)

sabisia first off, thanks for taking the time to read my primer. Second, thanks for bringing that point up. My best response is that... I messed up. You're right, the cost of activating a sac outlet it preliminary to priority being passed--I'll fix that immediately to a combat scenario with Eggs being blockers. Many gratuities!

I might try running Parallel Lives over Anointed Procession, just because you seem to be higher on green mana than white?

Omniscience_is_life: Or you could always run both!
Love the deck name, by the way.

Both is actually not a bad idea at all... what would you cut for it?
Appreciate it btw ;)

Hmmm. Maybe Stonehoof Chieftain? I've never been impressed by him even when he's cheated in.
Autumn's Veil is pretty much strictly worse than Veil of Summer, by the way. Another good swap, perhaps :)

Definitely need to pick up a VoS, you're quite right about that. I'm not sure about cutting the Chieftain--not a whole lot else guarantees my creatures not only survive combat but also push damage through.

First off, I always love to hear people discuss synergies and such about the decks they cherish, please go into as much detail as you'd like on my wall!
Now. Onto the combo explanation.
The Zacama combo is definitely not one I get every game, but it's pretty explosive and hard to stop once it's rolling. My opponent kind of has to get rid of Emeria Shepherd to stop the train--and given how unthreatening it is without support, even people who know what it can do in my deck usually don't want to waste a Swords or Path on it.
If I get just Nyxbloom Ancient and Nylea, Keen-Eyed out I can usually abuse the fuck out of her ability enough to draw into the other pieces, and given those are both enchantments I can get em with any of the tutors in the deck.
Sometimes I get the combo, spin the wheel a million times, generate a bucketload of mana... and whiff on getting another piece I need to win and have to settle for gaining some life and killing some shit with Zacama.
And sometimes I don't get the combo at all. As you guessed, a lot of the time I don't. It's not that I never win those games, or even usually don't--but they're a little less reliable. I do have the backup plans of
A. using Kodama of the East Tree and one of my guys that draws cards when things enter to (as I put it so elegantly in my primer, "spam permanents")
B. hit a billion landfall triggers with Moraug and Pathbreaker Ibex in play. Those happen just as frequently as the Zacombo... but they're a little more fragile and less fun to talk about. I should totally update my "How we win" section to include more about the other wincons, it totally does seem like I mainly use the Zacama loop.
I win about 58% of the time with this deck (my playgroup is very balanced)--unless I get the Zacemeria synergy, in which case the number rises to about 70%. TBH, I usually don't ever end up playing out the entire turn when I get it, it would take about 15 minutes on average if I did, but given the efficacy of the (I'm running out of synonyms for "combo" here) wincon I wouldn't say that I'm missing out on a whole lot of games where I would lose if I played it out.
Thanks for reading my primer and asking such a great question! I do love this deck with a passion, you can tell by my million-page long answer ;)

Hell yeah thanks so much! Means a lot. If I can find your Kinnan deck on any website I'll give it my love

Why not running any nice infinite combos with parts you can’t tutor? I run 7 of them in my Atla but since they’re not creature based they still rely on your draw luck, but none of the combo pieces is a dead card on its own. So it’s non-tutorable combo potential with value cards you would play anyways

Maybe Seasoned Pyromancer over Cathartic Reunion. The effect is similar and pyro makes tokens, which is what this deck seems to be wanting to do.
