No, I'm saying that you want 2-drops because they make you play your commander a turn earlier, which can protect it from Hinder and Spell Crumple if your opponent has some tapped lands, or just hasn't drawn it yet/has to tutor for it. Besides, at the beginning of a game when are you going to use that one mana anyway? The only one I would keep it the Lantern, just for fixing.

I agree, powering out a commander a turn early, or on time with Swiftfoot Boots or another 1 cost equip is pretty big. I do still like lantern and relic for their versatility, but I could see Coldsteel Heart replacing Darksteel Ingot .

Good targets for Sunforger
are Double Negative
, Counterflux
, Boros Charm
, Absorb
, Render Silent
, Unexpectedly Absent
. These will all help protect ruhan and early enough make the game slow down to where you're fast enough.
Vulshok Battlemaster is another creature I'm high on for equipment based decks like this.
you might also want to consider some other tutors like Mystical Tutor and Merchant Scroll .

@gufymike thanks for the suggestions... i don't run Sunforger because it is too slow... takes 3 to play and 3 to equip.... hard to pull off...

peru_soldi I disagree, it's not that hard to pull off. Plenty of free equip stuff exists and easy to get on the battlefield and the instant speed tutor is so worth any headaches you might think are there. But to each his own.

This is what I run, and I think we run about the same. This is a bit more controlly than your version.. but I found it's about perfect there, the only refinement I need is in my instant's (getting more to get more out of Sunforger ). TBH, the only reason I built this was to use Sunforger , a card I'm in love with because it just wins games. Instant speed tutor for answers is just oh so good.

I personally am not a fan of the Mystic Remora . cumulative upkeep will get far too expensive .

"braids of fire" keep "mystic remora" payingand gives you more and more red mana at your upkeep to use for other potential
otherwise cut the remora, rhystic study is a better card for 2u you get more cards from it,also if you have shroud on Ruhan you can still equip with stonehewer giant
also if you have bomb enchantments like eldrazi conscription you should run Sovereigns of lost alara. As long as ruhan attacks alone he get exalted and you may search for an AURA that can attach to him...NO TARGET...so it gets around shroud.
Shroud is better for many reasons.
Also consider vanishing. u but you pay uu and he phases out with all aura's and equipments and counters coming back at your upkeep. so he cannot be removed as he is treated as non-existant. He won't have summoning sickness.
This is pretty cool...

Im not a fan of the following cards:
Manipulate Fate : If you're just going to get rid of cards anyway, why run the cards you are getting rid of?
A Plains : I run 35 lands in my control deck, so I dunno if you should run 36.
Final Fortune : You are taking a huge risk saying "im going to win next turn, and if not you win". I mean 2 mana for an extra turn in red is great, but if you don't use the turn wisely you just die.
coldsteel relic: Its two mana for a mana rock that taps for one color only.
That's 4 cards to take out so you can be at 100. I will most likely be back to tell you some other cool cards to add.

@ TheGamer thanks for the input... here are my thoughts...
in edh it is very common for someone to tuck your general into your library, so in order to get him out again i use Manipulate Fate .... for Final Fortune i really only am looking at the effect and cost, if i am playing this card then it is a game finisher, otherwise i would not play it...Coldsteel Heart is a mana accelerator... it works wonders and it helps me get Ruhan of the Fomori out faster....

I'm just going to link my Ruhan deck, Ruhan's Reckoning, and let you see if anything catches your eye. My Ruhan deck is my baby, so I hope it gives you an idea or two! It's a little less voltron heavy and a little more combat-tricky, but it works great for me and my meta.

Remember the Fallen is good for recursion. I'd recommend taking out Lightning Greaves for maybe another equipment with hexproof. Shroud is not that good in voltron decks. +1

I know Lightning Greaves is good, you just won't be able to add anything else unless you equip it to another creature. Same with Whispersilk Cloak. Maybe Champion's Helm or Mask of Avacyn? For haste there's Ring of Valkas or Strider Harness.
For auras maybe Dragon Breath or Messenger's Speed?
As for what card to take out, its hard to say because I'm not sure what your playgroup is like. At first glance, maybe Oblivion Stone? Seems slow to me.

your suggestions for 2 mana drops are good, except they come into play tapped, essentially making them 3 mana drops... also the ingot once it comes into play stays there, hard to remove, the lantern makes all my mana all colours and the relic can give me 2 mana in 1 shot... for the signets, i might replace Azorius signet with Talisman of Progress
