So much enchantments I'd run a few Auramancer s side board if not mainboard. They'll come in handy for heavy counter/control decks.

The first thing I think when I look at the decklist is: "Why no Thoughtseize ?" Even 2 copies would be a huge benefit to the deck. I would replace the 2 Blind Obedience with 2 Thoughtseize . Blind Obedience is a better card in the sideboard, anyway.

I love the deck, +1 from me! I will do some testing later on.

+1 from me, as well. I agree with adding a couple Thoughtseize . It's just too good a card to be without.

Btw, you said you liked my deck, but you didn't +1 it. ;)

WOW! When I first commented on this deck I was like, This looks interesting, but it wouldn't lead to much. Now its THE 4TH DECK ON TAPPED OUT. Holy Hyphens WTF

Feels like it needs a few more lands with this pretty high curve. I would go 26 lands instead of 24 to make it a little more consistent with the starting hands.

this curves out at 5 markbass

I love it! The main concern I have is the Nykthos. It's legendary so you can't have two on the field at once, right? Land destruction is definitely a thing but I don't know if it's enough to gamble an essentially dead card on, right?

Beyond that, I can SEE the pain just through the first few cards, largely cards I wasn't even aware of!

I see you have an Auramancer in the side. Have you considered using Odunos River Trawler ? it only gets enchantment creatures but it can get 2 of them.

Markbass, I agree with MAGESTIC_LLAMA because not only does my deck use cards with a cmc of 5 or less, but my average cmc is a low 2.78 at the moment, whereas most decks are above 3

Faust-the-Walker, thanks man! As for nykthos, it was really just an afterthought to be honest- for those times when I'm stuck with 2 lands, a bunch of low-cost creatures, and a couple of high-cost cards in hand that I want to get out. Otherwise, I try to use it to get off Underworld Coinsmith 's ability a few times a turn when my hand gets empty. I understand where you're coming from, but it really isn't an essential part of the deck, and it can help in a pinch.

thebeej, unfortunately, I haven't considered Odunos River Trawler because I have less creatures than plain enchantments, plus...he's not an enchantment, so he'd have to be awesome to include him...

Guys, should I maybe go down to 23 lands so I can add another Banishing Light ???

June 5, 2014 5:13 p.m.

Kaelden says... #14

Have you considered 2x Underworld Connections instead of the Blind Obedience ? It give more devotion for Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx and gives you card advantage. Also, importantly, it's still an enchantment.

June 5, 2014 5:51 p.m.

I would definitely not do down to 23 lands. 24 is the best number for decks curving out at 5, in my experience.

I run 4x Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx in my red devotion deck and I rarely have issues with having multiples in my hand. You can always tap a Nykthos for mana then play a second Nythos (sacrificing the first per the Legedary rules) for more mana.

Kaelden, I was on the fence until now. After all though, it's still an enchantment like you mentioned, I should be able to get the mana pretty easily, and the life-loss is irrelevant compared to my life-gain. Thanks!

Gorgosaurusrex, gotcha, I'll keep my 24 lands. As for nykthos, I really only want the 2 copies (even though I own another 2) b/c most of my cards require a lot of colored mana and I don't want to get stuck with just colorless mana. P.S. I've used that Nykthos combo before with cards like Mistcutter Hydra . It's INSANE!!!

-Thanks for commenting!

I totally agree with the decisions you just made. I hate making changes to a deck. Sometimes I totally push aside advice, only to later realise that they were correct. Even if the amount of cards added our subtracted isn't exactly what they suggested.

This is a deck that I thought looked different, strange, and not a really good deck. Then I play tested it. Why can your deck get to 39 life on turn 5? Your deck is amazing in my opinion. I really like this life-gain aggro constellation type build, and I think I'm going to take it to my next open event. Thanks for opening my eyes up to this deck. I would have probably never thought of it myself. Also I think you should play only 2-3 brain maggot's at the most since if you brain maggot and see a removal, you almost have to take it, other wise they get their card back right away almost all the time. Maybe play like a thoughtseize or 2. I think you can spare the 2 life for casting it.

Blind Obedience shuts down aggro decks quick. Really impressed with this decklist.

June 5, 2014 10:34 p.m.

What about Exquisite Blood ? Another way to gain life, and the combo with Sanguine Bond is just beautiful.

Exquisite Blood is not standard.

ConfusedMandarin: Exquisite Blood isn't standard legal.

Stamina - Thanks!

ConfusedMandarin, HiddenStrings, Gorgosaurusrex- I wish! I mean, gain 1 life or deal 1 damage and I win! If only...
