FpsInsane- Thanks man, that means a lot. As for the Brain Maggot , I've really seen it do some amazing things, it doesn't cost me life like Thoughtseize (even though it doesn't matter with all the life-gain lol), it's an enchantment, and although it's a little fragile- I do get a creature if I need it...

...so I don't think I'll be using it, but I do have 2 copies if I change my mind...

+1 Upvoted. Getting back into Magic after a three year hiatus and sold my collection. Saving my pennies to buy this deck and shock my LGS. Any specific suggestings against B Devotion? Thx.

Dr4c0, my deck isn't your typical B Devotion, have a look at my deck to check out the cards.

Brain Tap

Blood Baron of Vizkopa is by far one of my most feared cards.

Hahaha Turn 4 I had a 20/20 flying first strike Master of the Feast . +1 from me.

HiddenStrings-Thanks! As for the deck-linking, do "deck-large:your-whole-deck-name-no-spaces" where the quotations are the double brackets used for linking cards.

EmperorRancor- I know right!? I love this deck!!!

Ok, BIG QUESTION GUYS: should I take out the 2 Sunbond for 2 more Banishing Light !?!?

June 6, 2014 12:31 p.m.

I would trade out the two Whip of Erebos for two Spear of Heliod. It adds to your aggro and is cheaper while still hitting devotion. Even if you would still keep the whips for the life link, I would at least consider the spear for the side board. Still +1, love this deck.

Thanks. Hey but now you have no Sunbond ? Sunbond really works magic by beefing up your creatures. Then again, Banishing Light is such an awesome card. I wish I had done advice for ya, but this kind of build is something I'm not used to tweaking. Possibly take one each of two things out to include Sunbond .

What are the guidelines for the "Budget" hub? Seems like $200+ might be stretching that just a tad haha.

June 6, 2014 2:24 p.m.

$200 is on the cheap side for a Standard deck nowadays. Most G/R Monsters and Control decks top $400 easily.

Budget means different things to different people, lol.

Dr4c0 & Gorgosaurusrex- I think I'll keep it under the budget hub for now, but if for some reason the price of the deck goes up, then I'll take it out.

HiddenStrings- It's back in as a 2-of. I'm still torn on how useful it is, but it could be a lifesaver, and the deck was built around the card, so it's going to stay.

I'd be interested in hearing about the deck ranking system for tappedout if anyone knows anything about it...

June 6, 2014 6:43 p.m.

HiddenStrings says... #16

Is this what you're referring to?

What's to rank?

June 6, 2014 7:51 p.m.

A12m994 says... #17

HiddenStrings, unfortunately no, I was referring to the deck's rating, and I can't seem to find ANY info on it anywhere as to how it is calculated or how to see the actual list.

I'm glad you replaced Master of the Feast with Herald of Torment .

I really loved to see how this deck evolved, although I think it's too bad it really fell out of my budget. (capping at about 60..)

Would love to see a lower-budget-remake from this deck soon .

June 7, 2014 9:25 a.m.

Wow, I've loved watching this deck go from something kind of neat to a very competitive deck. Well done, +1 from me

I was wondering on your thoughts on a few cards for this kind of deck, Oppressive Rays seems like it could offer some early game advantage vs aggro and ramp decks, nothing better than seeing the look on their face when that turn 1 Elvish Mystic becomes completely useless! Plus hey enchantment!
Also Contaminated Ground seems good vs aggro and control, as you can lock out specific colours, and force them to take even more damage just for using their lands, although it does become alot weaker the longer the game goes on for.... But t'is another enchant plus vs black decks, it can be sided out for something like Dark Betrayal :P

Use Imposing Sovereign instead of Blind Obedience . Almost the same thing, same cost, and you get a 2/1 body out of the deal as well.
