still testing both. the double blue is harder to get at times.

That Dig Through Time was the first thing I saw. Four is overkill times about four; a ton of the cards here function to do pretty much the same thing over and over again --aggressive board stall. You do draw out a lot out of your deck which is, I guess, pretty good but it helps to actually draw out a guy who ends the game for you.
Dig is a wonderfully tricky card and I support anyone who attempts to weaponize it. Its a card that virtually searches for two of the most haneous cards to play in that situation in the game but NOT as a draw source. Dig literally digs for a win con. Which reminds me, play some creatures! Narset is fun but is all alone, run at least three or four more cards like that and out from tucked away in the side, creatures that give a really hard time to respond to: Ashcloud Phoenix is good, Pearl Lake Ancient is even better. Try those creatures and keep dig to at least two. Also, crank Banishing Light way the heck up, its amazing and annoying at the same time, I suggest taking away some at the walkers for space for the light. Those should be at a playset, the Planeswalkers? Not so much.

i have Ashcloud Phoenix in the side as part of an aggressive midrange build to combat the control lists. i could drop to 2 digs and up the lights to 4 of. the walkers i am loving so far, might replace the jace with elspeth, however i do not own any at the moment. everything in here is currently what i own

Wait. ...you own four Digs but only two Mindswipes? What the heck?
I wasn't going to say anything about counters since you had four Dissolves but, woah... two can be in the side but three in the main instead is so good. You already have tons of removal so its even dumb to mention it but... woah...
Mindswipe is so good... woah...

usually just filters land to the yard to help a later dig, or to avoid getting lands with narset. elspeth would be the ideal choice, but i currently do not own any.

If you plan on picking elspeths up, pick them up when Kiora vs Elspeth comes out.

So what I'm looking at are Mantis Rider and Stormbreath Dragon in the sideboard...? That's crazy.

Its a control deck that switches to aggro in the sideboard

I playtested this against my esper control deck and it went 0-2 against it. It was bad. Every spell this deck had to cast was easily dealt with by mine. Here's the decklist if you're interested... i'm not sure what you can do about versing control decks, but i would definitely see to it that some kind of side cards help against it.

I suggest taking out some of Nyx-Fleece Ram, as it is a dead card against control and combo.
The current setup doesn't support Narset, Enlightened Master very much, as it has little one-sided removal, so removing 1 End Hostilities seems OK. The deck also has too much card advantage, so consider taking out some of Steam Augury, Dig Through Time and Narset, Enlightened Master for cards that impact the board/opponent's life total.
Now we can add some one-sided, versatile cards (serving both as removal and win condition):
- Master the Way provides card advantage, clears enemy threats and can deal quite some damage to opponent's face.
- Stoke the Flames is good even without creatures to convoke.
- Mindswipe is strong late game, when it pretty much takes away your opponent's spells-casting-ability. (Otherwise, they would die to the damage.)

Master the Way, Stoke the Flames, Mindswipe (I forgot to tick the suggestions :O)

what exactly would you replace with your suggestions? deck went 2-1 last night at FNM last night, losing to my own mistakes pretty much.

Out:
4 Nyx-Fleece Ram, 2 Steam Augury
In:
4 Stoke the Flames, 2 Master the Way

The deck is built around narset and nyx fleece ram was recently added. It helped the deck change from 1-3 the week before to 3-1 this week, losing only to my own mistakes. There are very few control decks around and ascendancy decks are not fast enough in standard to win early game. Thanks for the suggestions, but I think the deck is good as it is. 4 drop burn over card advantage, and 5 drop sorcery over lasting planeswalker / boardwipe seems marginal

I love Narset Control, I honestly believe it is one of the best decks in standard when piloted well cause Narset is sweet. Here is my list that has been adjusted several times from my experiences in bigger tournaments: http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/free-of-charge-narset/
Let me know what ya think and I agree that the Nyx-Fleece Rams should be in the sideboard and not in the main.

the ram has served me very well. it stalls aggro, while gaining me life, and survives my early sweeper with Anger of the Gods. it is also a valid 2 drop, which was missing from the original list, making the curve slightly easier to hit. other considerations were Magma Jet and Suppression Field but those were lack luster in my playtests.

Since you have little burn, I'd mainboard Monastery Mentor and sideboard Soulfire Grand Master. I'd also put more burn in the sideboard with Soulfire, Stoke the Flames, Burn Away for whip or sultai decks, maybe Magma Jet, Arc Lightning against tokens and Elspeth and such. And I know it's a controlling deck but I'd drop the land count to 24 or 25 since Dig Through Time is your most expensive card and it was delve.
Also, no Elspeth, Sun's Champion?

Decks like this are going to be meta. If you want my advice, ditch all the cards that exile your own stuff (Dig Through Time, and creature Narset) and start running Day's Undoing. Run less win cons and add more control cards. Anticipate is a must because you're constantly thinning your deck and having to dig through one-of cards to get to your win cons or sweepers.
You're also severely missing out on AEtherspouts which I'm sure has a place at least somewhere in this deck.

Jace, Vryn's Prodigy Flip is the Snapcaster Mage of standard
AEtherspouts would work wonderfully
Swift Reckoning is a decent kill spell

I think Dig Through Time is definitely better than Treasure Cruise here. Id probably drop the cruises and go up to 3x Dig Through Time and add 1x Jace, the Living Guildpact . Just my preference though, I feel like It would probably run more efficiently draw wise with another Dig Through Time and new Jace gets things into the yard for delve
